Seems like nobody on these type threads watch the press briefings. Trump has a lot of respect for Fauci. And Birx. And every expert leading this fight. Trump realizes that the action being taken is necessary.

All of a sudden many here think Trump is this pushover who stumbled into where he is and can be easily led around by frauds so much so that he is willing to lead to country into ruin.

Trump is right. The actions being taken are needed. Those Trump trusts have pointed the reasons out many, many times. And personally I’ve heard nothing but the same from experts with no connection to government. The situation sucks. Big time. But covering your ears doesn’t mean that the facts go away.

Virus may have been here, although there is no confirmation of that and the first death wasn’t until the first week in March, so as a killer it is here a month. I’m not interested in any other flu statistic as they are all bogus.

I don’t believe in tracking reported cases; only recorded deathe. The first recorded death for the regular flu was in week 40 of 2019. It’ll run for a whole year and have recorded deaths each week.

I think what they are not telling us is the reason. I think that China probably had a million deaths already and they are lying about the numbers.

Or they had hardly any but made it look like they had a lot by shutting out the press and releasing phony staged videos with guys in scary bio-gear and telling us they built giant hospitals in 3 days. Then after the panic ensued all of a sudden they stopped having new cases and went back to work, but left the US in the chaos that it is in now? Mission accomplished.

Are we more aware today than we were in 2018 the stats for flu in 2018 are quite astonishing 40 million cases, 647,000 hospitalized, 62,000 deaths so WHY was not EVERY case reported, EVERY death reported, wall to wall 24/7 coverage, hysteria everywhere forcing hospitals to be on overload!! WHY because it was not an election year!! Yes this is a bad virus HOWEVER the overreaction to this is absolutely ABSURD!!!

It seems to mutate at the same rate as the seasonal flu, so there’s that as well. Regardless of whether or not I’m vaccinated for the flu, I always catch it; but it’s not as bad as it could have been when I received a vaccine.

Ok you've definitely peaked my curiosity. You said "regardless of whether or not you're vaccinated" so does that mean some years you get vaccinated and some you don't?

When you "catch it" is it verified by testing or are you just assuming you have it by your symptoms?

My enquiring mind wants to know if you don't mind telling.

Chloroquine is inflammatory is not a good for the blood to clear out the cell area.
Hydroxychloroquine is an anti-inflammatory an is what should be used. This is the drug Trump is suggesting
Quercetin is an anti-inflammatory and can be found in some foods. As a preventative I would suggest quercetin zinc oxide that coats your throat. Vitamins C, D3 and B1.

5. Slow recovery time. That is because of the infection. Which wouldn't be a major problem if "Antibody-dependent enhancement" where not distributed. ADE changes the cells into a long term memory for an infection in the lungs when a new strain of SARS is introduced. Italy and China received the ADE. The US, Germany, South Korea and the UK didn't receive this failed drug in large numbers. (hundreds of millions where distributed world wide)

Every hour of every day of this pandemic we are bombarded with how many have died from the virus. We are now up to 6,075. This is the basis for the fear motivating everything about the virus. I am positive there have not been 6,075 autopsies to support the number. There probably have not been 6,075 tests either, for that matter. Patients get sick, develop symptoms are diagnosed and if they die, are counted as a covid 19 deaths. That’s as good a number as we can expect.

If I’m not sick, or get sick and recover, that generates no fear. The 6,075 dead people are what has shut us down.

Then we're kind of beat. Because ALL the statistics on this virus are going through Chinese Center for Disease Control. Including John Hopkins university which most of ours is from and WHO(CDC gets there info from WHO)

The media is obviously lying about the death rates. They constantly state confirmed cases/death then in the same breath say that is the death rate. Which it is NOT!

The point even freepers and other conservatives are getting caught up in this which is what I don't understand. The fear must of gotten to them or something?

With the severity of the disease and seeing the impact and rapid spread in hot spots, most people would try to follow the recommendations.

Most people in NYC/NJ are idiots and are doing the opposite, They are fleeing the hot spots they created and spreading it everywhere. Even worse are the idiots from other parts of the country who went to NYC to party and brought it back. Same with New Orleans. They might argue they didn't know. But they knew and went anyway, to be cool, have fun, and get laid.

Almost 100% of those dying or even becoming seriously ill from this bs virus are past retirement age and their staying home would have NO effect on the economy. Once again WHY are we locking down the country.....why?

To me, these two items are in direct contradiction to each other. If we became aware of the Chinese crisis in December (which we did), then their crisis probably began no later than November. During Nov - Jan, there was unrestricted air travel back and forth to China in every country in the world, including the US.

If the virus were as contagious as it is being made out to be, then the number of currently infected HAS TO BE much much higher than the recorded number of verified cases, yet the death and hospitalization rate STILL isn't higher than the flu. We're being told it is, but we're not seeing the actual numbers to back it up, unless they are secretly carting away tens of thousands of dead people in the middle of the night.

The numbers don't yet support the claims.

The Chinese thought it was way worse than other flu type viruses. Their reaction to the escape, if escape it was, suggested that they thought it was much worse than it is, thought it was as bad as they had designed it to be.

I lean toward this explanation too. The Chinese designed it with some expectations, but had no idea how it would really behave in the wild. When it got loose, they had no choice but to prepare for the worst case scenario.

Covid-19 is a severe flu virus that basically results in a very aggressive pneumonia for the very old and for those with respiratory/cardiovascular illnesses and issues.

Covid-19 is a cold virus, not a flu virus. We have no antivirals or vaccines specifically for colds. And the death rate of Covid-19 is about 50 times higher than the death rate for influenza.

High transmissibility, a death rate that is low enough not to impede transmission but high enough to cause a LOT of deaths, a population that has no immunity... these are all reasons why public health officials take this VERY seriously. The number of cases just reached 1 million today, and is doubling about every 7 days. At a 5% death rate, a lot of people will die.
