The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Barone was fine until he barfed that one up. They were “sincere in their beliefs”? WTF? So were the opposition, only one side was right, and the other was useful idiots.
He does bring up a good question, though. What is “Chinese Culture”? And who owns the trademark?
I have visited China only twice, for work, with a coworker born in Hong Kong. He wanted me to see the “historical sites”, the Wall, the Forbidden City, and the like. What struck me was that they were monuments to a dead culture rejected by a people who now have “pictures” (if that is the word for a giant, overbearing likeness) of a smiling Mao, everywhere.
There’s a sort of monument for Tienanmen Square. It honors the tank drivers.
The “one child” law has gutted the traditional family.
China, Red China, has rejected Chinese Culture. It now threatens the few nations Barone mentions who might preserve it.
