They test blood for HIV before using it on others. Doesn’t that HIV test work?

I don’t know. But if there are anti-COVID-19 antibodies present, which is the whole point of the plasma donations, it follows automatically, that the donor is not infested with HIV, or that it has not yet taken over. They’re saying that 3 months after the last time they did it with a man is sufficient time for the HIV to take hold or not, and that it’s safe to assume that it did not, since he has antibodies. I think that, plus the HIV test, is sufficient proof of the safety of the plasma.
