Any bets on how long it will take for some states to mandate this Wal Mart idea for all stores?

From recent experience, about 1/4 of Walmart store employees are wearing gloves, and maybe one in 10 is wearing a mask.

You’re just as likely to catch the China Virus from one of them as from another shopper.

I despised shopping at Walmart for multiple reasons before the outbreak. Thanks geniuses, you just sealed the deal for me.

I typically go there, but if there's a line for that sh*t, I'm turning right around and leaving.

And I don't care if they're lined up six feet apart.

DANG!

Just imagine the whole country’s reaction if an outbreak is traced back to a Walmart, employees included, and the battalion of lawyers screeching about Walmart’s failure to guard its employees’ health.

What a joke. This will not turn out well.

Need to have even and I days or some other method For your shopping. People don’t have enough to do in so they’re wondering around the Wal-Mart.

A lot of stores are already doing this. In virginia, a lot of the “non-essential’ stores stayed open by limiting to 10 patrons at a time. MicroCenter had you text onto a list, and they’d text you back when you could come in.

Costco has been limiting customers, and set up a nice line for them with separation.

I have done this at the grocery story by going at times people aren’t there, I think there was 20 people in the store when I was in the store, and I don’t start down an aisle if someone is on it already.

Just sent my daughter to a store other than Walmart. Other stores are going to be crushed by overflow from Walmart tomorrow. This is a real pain in the rear end. We just want some fresh veggies and cheap generic pop. We could do without, since there’s plenty in the deep freeze, but I want to save those things for a real crisis.

"Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a store’s capacity."

Tricky. That's 5 customers for each area of roughly 32x32 feet, square, where the usual capacity is five times that (re. 20 percent). The allowance is for a crowd.

In 150,000 sq. ft. supercenter, that would be 750 customers. Another problem is the lack of ventilation for heating and air conditioning efficiency.

Also, much of the area in square feet might be the stockroom, coolers, backroom meat department areas, employee break rooms, offices and other areas in the back.

I went in the local Walmart today. There was a line of cones and tape to enter but no backup.

I saw a line outside Sam’s Club over a week ago and decided I didn’t need anything on my list. Trader Joe’s was great, and Target pretty good too.

I guess I won’t be going there then. They can kiss my ass. At 72, I’m not standing outside for anyone.

The following will be happening at all Walmart stores before very long.

Walmart in Williston is letting customers know it is not offering “non-essential” items for purchase. The store roped off a large section of its store to comply with the governor’s order April 1, 2020. (Photo: APRIL BARTON/FREE PRESS)

What items are considered ‘non-essential’?
According to the news release, large retailers must cease in-person sales of items that include, but are not limited to:

Arts and crafts items.
Beauty supplies.
Carpet and flooring.
Clothes.
Consumer electronics.
Entertainment (books, music, movies).
Furniture.
Home and garden.
Jewelry.
Paint.
Photo services.
Sports equipment.
Toys.
Access to aisles or sections of the store that contain these items will be restricted. Retailers that sell essential goods such as food, beverages and medicine are still allowing in-person sales of those items.
