Well, according to them, Washington State is, right now, on the down side of the curve

Thanks for posting this. This largely fits in with what the states like Washington are expecting, for this to peak mid April and hopefully be largely over by May.

And regardless of what some here think of these projections, President Trump does pay attention to them, and it’s nice to see things going in the right direction.

Another downward adjustment in the daily dose of fear doom sauce.

https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

Down and down and down the death projections go. Where it stops, nobody knows, especially the so called experts who refuse to mouth these essential words:

We don’t know.

I suppose they will say that “but for the social distancing and lockdown, this would have been worse.”

Too bad for them that an anti-body test will be widely administered, probably to everyone. And it is a point of care test as well. Once the testing is widespread we will know how many were exposed, how many manifested symptoms and roughly how long this has been here.

There will be no hiding behind an argument of “but for the lockdown” as an unprovable shield. I betcha a certain group of bureaucrats know that and are starting to sweat as these models continually adjust downward based on actual data.

I also bet that these same bureaucrats now starting to sweat will move quickly to block wide spread anti-body testing. Gee, I wonder why?

wow 80,000, that’s the same as the number that died from the flu in the winter of 2017.

Guess the flu bros nailed it?

This ain’t the flu.

But what I will be curious to see is where it comes out v. H1N1, which by the way, I had. With my luck, I will catch this and end up on a respirator.

The death toll here will be larger. But therein lies the rub. Given the wonton destruction to our economy, this had better be three orders of magnitude worse. So far, it is not trending in that direction.

Thanks for posting this.

When I look at the WA State curve, which has already peaked, I see that starting around the end of April and especially around the Middle of June, we may be able to ease some of the social distancing and work on carefully restarting the local economy. Again, that needs to be done very carefully.

It is time to start thinking about how to restart the economy in a planned way so that all the pieces can start be be brought back to working order.

I wager that when the dust settles the billions spent on face masks and ventilators will if not sold overseas look like an incredible panic over reaction.

if we 'ease some of the social distancing'    'around the Middle of June'        the economy will be      DEAD      DEAD      DEAD

I disagree. Once the restrictions are removed, this country will roar back like never seen before. And it will still be roaring during the months preceding the November election. This has the potential to obliterate the Democrats.

Like a hurricane model, the closer they get to landfall the more accurate they can be. Pseudo-science.
