Gonna be hard to quantify due to the huge number of people being paid for not working.

Not surprising. If it stays into double digits by October, or even high single digits (7-8%), Biden can invoke Reagan's threshold question in the debate against Trump: "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"

It will be tough to overcome that, even though CV is not Trump's fault.

But by all means, stay hidden under your bed at home. It’s all going to be fine.

So how many government “workers” are now unemployed (and not being paid)?

Inquiring minds want to know.

My prediction is that the tone at the White House will change dramatically around Easter Sunday ... and the administration’s attitude is going to be: “We won’t tell any governors what to do, but it’s time for 90% of this country to grow up and get back to work.”

“All of us wanna know, just as much as I wanna know, who’s responsible? ... But don’t worry: your food, housing, insecurity will be guaranteed by your Department of Redundancy Department and the Natural Guard. ... So please, stay where you are. Don’t move, and don’t panic! Don’t take off your shoes! Jobs is on the way!”...The Firesign Theatre

Is this the Obama number (remember he stopped counting people who left the workforce).

Yellen described the recent reports of initial claims for unemployment benefits, amounting to around 10 million in the past two weeks, as “absolutely shocking.”

She's living in a bubble. The 10 million is the number of unemployment claims processed. Millions more were filed and are still waiting to be processed.

Most of the unemployed are furloughed and will return to their jobs. But it’s a great opportunity for businesses to be rid of less productive employees without having to fire them...just don’t call them back.

From the woman who headed the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, when the housing bubble was raging in California and she declared there was no housing bubble. Then, later on, the Peter Principle was rewarded by Obama’s elevation of her to the top spot at the Fed. Like Madeline Halfbrite she rose to her level of incompetence.
