Harvard Law students are asking the Ivy League school to help them avoid having to take the bar exam, citing the coronavirus pandemic.
As reported by the Harvard Crimson, nearly 200 law students set to graduate this year signed a letter asking Harvard Law to advocate on their behalf to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, asking it to issue "emergency diplomas." According to the Crimson, the letter claims that the postponement of the bar exam until July 2020 will disproportionately affect minority students.
"we respectfully request that the Committee enact a diploma privilege for all recent graduates and 2020 graduates who plan on taking the July 2020 Bar Exam and practicing law..."
Folks that don't have the financial security to be able to just quit their job and study for the bar at any moment they might choose to forego the state bar. That means low-income students, immigrant students, folks of color are the ones that are going to be more likely to have to forgo taking or studying a later exam because they're going to be needing to work to provide for themselves and their family," the letter reads, according to the Crimson.

What pieces of crap.
I’ve known a couple of Harvard and other “good” law school graduates. They had to study pretty hard, for a couple of months to cram for the bar exam. This is an attempt at an end run for the lazy.
If I were talking to these Harvard appellants, I’d ask them if they would want to extend the same courtesy to graduates of lesser schools, too.
I agree. They can take it next year. Lifeguard during the summer, snow blow over the winter, etc.
Gee, I wonder if you would want one of these to serve as your legal counsel?
Tough noogies.
Theyre not working now. The economy is mostly closed. They have tons of free time to prepare.
Didn't hawvawd already teach necessary knowledge to pass the bar exam?
Bunch of Pussy’s. The world has no safe space.
“We respectively answer; no way Jose.”
Affirmative Action bar exams for Affirmative Action students. Sounds logical to me.
Anyone remember Kathleen Sullivan, Harvard Law Graduate, Stanford Law dean, lesbian, and Obama scotus short-lister?

Wimps. Who would want one of them as a lawyer?
Hillary Clinton reported jealous...
No more than I would want the pilot of an aircraft to fly unrestricted without a flight exam.
We are ALL attorneys now.
Might as well just give ‘em their degrees. They’ll be equally worthless whether they pass the exam or not.
Why not just close the school and eenie-meenie-meiny-moe who gets to be a Harvard Law grad?
Because we have so few lawyers now that it’s an emergency to get more?
What difference if you take a bar review course in June after you graduate or in December 6 months later. Good try, using the black folks are disadvantaged argument to avoid having to take the bar but sorry, you’re gonna have to take it with the rest of us law school slugs.
Yeah right, women and minorities hit the hardest.
Like there’s anything but white bread going to that school.
Nice try though. Exam will be held in JULY I suggest you study.
