I’m partial to a headline in the March 28 New York Times: “The Lost Month: How a Failure to Test Blinded the U.S. to Covid-19.” The article detailed how testing screw-ups (by a still-unnamed pharmaceutical company) and bureaucratic bumbling led the government to lose the critical weeks it needed to get on top of testing the way China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Germany and other nations have.

Alter mentions bureaucratic bumbling in his article, which is about the only accurate thing he mentions. Yet, he expects that same bureaucracy to get the job done. Let them drone on. Never mind the president had to deal with a phony impeachment in that “critical” month. Congress obviously was never concerned about the virus in January or February. This will all come back and bite the left like it always does!

After Trump in January declared a “humanitarian and security crisis" during a primetime Oval Office address, Sen. Chuck Schumer, speaking beside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Trump was working to “manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration." Party leader Tom Perez also called it “manufactured.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., described it as a "'crisis' that doesn't exist." Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted at the time that "we're not falling" for the "fake crisis."
Early March: Queen Nancy was telling people to go outside and so was Mayor Bill and NYC's Health Commissioner were doing the same. Even the headline shows that this is just a hate article. What happened to just reporting the news and letting people make their own decisions?This journalist, and article, are prime examples of why most Americans no longer trust the media. The writer talks about the "GOP spin" but weaves a story that is so far out of proportion that just closes the reader's mind.
Pelosi wasted a whole week with the stimulus with her grandstanding.
