Can you imagine the complaints companies will get because someone sneezed in the office?

He sneezed - did not - did too!

I’ve watched several Task Force briefings, and I think you’ve mischaracterized Fauci’s statements regarding testing. Fauci (and Brix too) has said, from almost the beginning, that testing was the key to ending the lockdowns. There have been about 2 million tests done so far — Fauci simply pointed out the obvious about universal testing: it would require well over 300 million tests, and those tests would have to be repeated from time-to-time. IMHO, the strategy of targeted testing, when the “mitigation” (read lockdowns) phase is over, and the “surveillance” phase begins. During the surveillance phase (maybe just a couple of weeks away), anyone suspected of having the disease will be tested, and all of their contacts will be tracked and tested. That seems like a sound and doable strategy.

I think it’d be easier to prove Walmart at fault if more than one employee from that store also contracted COVID.

At the very beginning we could see that any school, factory, office, religious building or restaurant that stayed open and later had a person catch the Chinese Virus would later be sued. That’s why they closed-—not to help anything but their monetary future.

Soon documentation to go somewhere (as above work & play) will be like baseball tickets. On one side will be printed a disclaimer saying you have given up your rights and cannot sue anybody. Immoral and cheapskate ball team owners have done that for decades. People agree to leave the owner legally blameless if hit in the face with a 100 mph line drive like that little girl.

Those peeps are in charge of testing. They claim to be the US epidemiologists in charge. Disease CONTROL center....

There have yet to be any multiple geographic locations tested and published wrt getting a sample of the extent of infection and hence be able to calculate a death rate by age cohort. FAIL. We need to know the risk level. We do not know yet.

The CDC/FDA totally screwed up their initial very modest testing regimen.

Testing capacity still remains orders of magnitude below that required to let us be free. The CDC had a decade to get prepared to roll out a yuge testing program should another pandemic arrive. Even Fauxcy in 2017 said Trump will get a pandemic to deal with. What did he do? Squat. Even I know that 100s of millions of tests are needed. The CDC/NIH/FDA? Dead on their butt.

Even the RINO Md. Governator got his wife to call Korea and get some more test kits from there sent over.

Having to get a note from jomama to get a test is ridiculous.

AFAIK, random-sample testing is being done in several places; in order to get a handle on the number of cases hiding in plain sight. If I’m wrong about that — then IMHO, that is a big mistake. Random-sampling would only require a few thousand tests; so, it should be quite doable. Regardless, universal testing (330 million +) is just not doable. Not now, maybe not ever.

Also, mistakes were certainly made along the way. Investigations are needed after the crisis is over(can one hope that any of them will be non-partisan searches for the truth?). To quote the late, great Kenny Rogers: “There’ll be time enough for countin’ When the dealing’s done.”

"random-sample testing is being done in several places; "

Well good. Where do I go to look at the data?

"Investigations are needed after the crisis..."

We are in a newer time with greater technological capabilities. We need and deserve very near real-time data.

Spend Billion$, not Trillion$.

Oh please! I said “AFAIK”, and “if I’m wrong ... that [is] a big mistake”. Why are you twisting my words, like a Jim Acosta wannabe? We are pretty much saying the same thing.

Watch some of the Task Force briefings — if you had, you wouldn’t be saying such things. All of the technological capabilities you talk about are being used against this plague. There are over 125,000 tests (and growing) being done every day. Trump is all over this, and I don’t think you could do any better.

The testing amplification is still orders of magnitude behind the real time needs.

There is currently no plan to get to even a 100 million tests/month.

CDC/NIH/FDA are at fault for totally inadequate planning.

Too much time and $ spent on gun control and Gorebal Warning.

I completely agree with your last two points.

I agree with your second point -- but, not the implicit assumptions you made (that 100 million tests/month are required).

Your first point is completely off-base.

Universal testing is not now possible (blame that on bad planning, if you will). The objective of the lockdowns was to drive down the numbers to a manageable level. If the lockdowns work (and it appears that they are working), universal testing will never be required. Vigilance, surveillance, and target testing will do the job & allow things to return to a semblance of normalcy.

Seriously, watch a few of the Task Force briefings. You'll hear the experts explain things better than I ever could. You'll also see that Trump is on top of this. Everything and I mean everything you see in the MSM (and even the conservative media), is filtered and distorted. Watch the Task Force briefings, and you'll see what I mean.

I STRONGLY disagree. I need some testing to insure that meeting up with rest of the fam at the new compound does not put anyone at risk.

That would involve a test for each individual involved. This is apparently NOT available at this point.

Plus there is the privacy concern. This type of testing should be private, like a current pregnancy test.

And damn quick. The technology IS out there, but not available, even with Congress spending Trillion$.

Watching is not going to fix my very current real time issues.

The current situation does NOT meet my requirements.

Fauxcy and the Scarf are not part of my solution.

Once in my workplace lunch hours were observed casually with no log in or out requirements. After the Walmart lawsuits settled our workplace has a 30 minute break with a two minute interval to log in.

I would imagine after this dispute settles—supervisors will observe every hand washing session for the record before entering the work area and donning any gloves or other PPE. Either that or tie every employee into a wifi network and have them self record—no slackers please.
Nanny state management tools for the peons.
