A widely shared, four-person-bylined, “wow”-provoking New York Times story today informs us that Donald Trump is personally benefiting from his “aggressive advocacy” of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine because he owns stock in one of the companies that manufacture the drug.
The story might be one of the most ridiculous articles published by mainstream media in the Trump era — though, admittedly, the field is highly competitive. But while knee-jerk anti-Trumpism is expected, the angry obsession over the president’s championing of hydroxychloroquine is uniquely ugly.

The Left should take the stuff and die just to prove Trump wrong.
They have nothing to lose. They make the wild charges and create doubt in the weak minded American public.

Perhaps a lawsuit or two would bring them to heel for a few minutes.
Even if he helped find the cure for cancer, there’d be those on the left who would say Trump was a sexist if the cure wasn’t immediately for breast or uterine or ovarian or any of the cancers women mainly get.

I was just wondering, if it was at all possible to list even more nefarious things that obama did or was part of, and if the msm was the opposite of what it is now, hard right, would we believe everything they wrote about obama or are we level headed enough to say “well he’s a monster but that’s just plain silly”

The Left never says why they hate Trump other than they hate Trump - no evidence of whatever they accuse him of but just pure spiteful hatred.
Twofold reaction
First off, Trump tauted it.
So automatically the left is against it.
As has been said before, Trump could come out with a cure for cancer and the left would do everything to sabotage it.
Secondly, but along the same deranged impetus, the left is rooting for corona to remain a bad thing as long as possible, particularly for the economy. It’s more than just a vague schadenfreude. The left really is full of hate.
One quibble I have with the article is that it says that the HCQ company is the major company in the portfolio, whereas I read it’s only a small part of the portfolio, and that the HCQ production of that company is a small part of the small part.
I checked prices on-line. You can get 60 tablets for as low as $14.95.
I don’t think the company is going to set record profits this year because they are selling more HCQ.
That’s true.
But let’s say this was obummer and he happened to own a stock that might go up because of the sale of this drug.
It seems that in a big enough portfolio ONE of the stocks is going to benefit from something like that. I wonder what we would think.
But to be fair, in obama’s case, he has SHOWN that he has no problem being immoral..so the point is moot

I took it for years when I worked in Africa and Middle East. I had no problems nor did anyone else that I knew. We were all taking it.
The same media fussing about Trump’s miniscule investment in this stock - which might net him a few hundred bucks - was utterly disinterested in investigating the millions of dollars that Hunter Biden collected from the Ukraine while his dad was Veep.
