Why not when you can get more money for not working than for working?
But if it saves just one child!
NO ONE can just walk in & claim unemployment.
The EMPLOYER must verify the status of the person claiming to be out of work.
ANYONE who QUITS will NOT get unemployment.
Worked as payroll supervisor for a large company & had plenty of such requests to process. People didn’t like the hard work & quit—then tried to collect UNEMPLOYMENT.
Didn’t work for them. Claims were denied because they had QUIT.
There always has been a week without any unemployment, as I recall.
IF people do NOT go back to work when companies reopen, then employer can report that & Unemployment will cease.
