Mosquitoes are a common summer-time foe that are known vectors of the West Nile Virus, Zika, Chikungunya and several other diseases that sicken humans, but what about the novel coronavirus?
As the weather warms and many move their stay-at-home orders to their backyard, the question of whether you can contract COVID-19 through a mosquito bite continues to surface.
There are several types of human coronaviruses, including MERS and SARS, which each caused deadly outbreaks of their own. COVID-19, however, has never been seen before, and is caused by SARS-CoV-2. As a whole, coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and can affect different species of animals, but rarely can an animal coronavirus infect a human and then spread between people. However, such instances were seen with MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV, and has also now been documented with COVID-19, which is caused by SARS-CoV-2.
And recently, researchers confirmed that humans spread the virus to tigers at the Bronx Zoo. There have also been reports outside of the U.S. involving pets particularly cats becoming infected after close contact with contagious people.
Typically, the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes...

In early March, the World Health Organization (WHO) said there has been no information nor evidence to suggest that COVID-19 can be transmitted by mosquitoes.

I had West Nile Virus about eight years ago. Similar symptoms to this affliction.
I remember that was a concern during the early AIDS period
I haven’t trusted what WHO says for decades now.
WHO’s on first.
Casual observation tells us that Democrats are spreading coronavirus in places where mosquitoes do not congregate.
That and swimming pools. Can the virus spread through swimming?
The liberals will be campaigning to save the mosquito’s
Yes they can and DDT is the solution.
Respiratory viruses and insect-borne viruses are typically two separate pools.
Not if they wear gloves and a face mask.
Yup,it’s the AIDS type hysteria again. Remember those days? The people need to keep FEARING. That keeps people under control.
If it is, which the article says it’s not, may as well lift quarantine in NC. We have striped ones the size of small drones, that hurt on bite. And will bite through your clothing!
DDT would help with Bed Bugs too.
This test could be conducted in a matter of 2-3 days.
When I was a kid a DDT pump sprayer was a standard tool in the house.

At some point, all countries will have Coronavirus, but China get it right off the bat.

The didn’t tell you anything that has meaning there.
They also don’t have a shred of evidence that it can’t be. They basically have no evidence at all. One way or another. So this is just a word play. In many cases they don’t know how someone caught the virus. Some of those could have potentially caught it from a bite. Hopefully not. But these health official always start off by telling people the least scary scenario. Remember what they said when all of this began?
My mother tells of my grandmother creating a cloud of DDT dust for her and my aunts and uncles to walk through as the went outside and spraying her room at night and dousing her clothes.
