Nobody under 40 goes to a theater anymore.

I agree but AMC was doomed anyway. They are up to their eyeballs in debt and people are not going to movie theaters in anywhere near the numbers they used to. So even without this shutdown they were probably going down sooner rather than later. This just put that timetable on warp speed.
Hollywood is in real trouble, they are not fully prepared for a wold without mass move theater chains to distribute films to. Direct sales to consumers is the alternative but through what platforms? Deals need to be made and fast. Hollywood itself might go broke before this is all over.
