California experienced its first decrease in coronavirus intensive care unit (ICU) hospitalizations, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Thursday.
The number of patients in the ICU dropped 1.9 percent from Wednesday's report, to a total of 1,132 people across the state. At the same time, the rate of total virus hospitalizations has slowed down this week.
But the governor warned against premature celebration or speculation that the outbreak was over.
"One data point is not a trend. One data point is not a headline, so I caution anybody to read too much into that one point of data,” Newsom said during his daily press conference.
“But nonetheless, it is encouraging. It reinforces the incredible work all of you are doing," he added.
The governor said 2,825 people total were hospitalized as of Thursday, which was a 4.1 percent increase from Wednesday's update.

They are using hydrocloroquine & Z pack keeping spoke out of hospitals AND off of vents!!
Especially when the beginning was much earlier than they will admit. To do that would implicate China, and they are untouchable for many.

Humboldt County has had 50 cases out of about 140 000 citizens and NO NEW cases in the past 36 hours...
We “fearpers” were “hoarding” back when stores were full of everything that nobody wanted.
That meant we did not have to go the stores when they were full of people freaking out—and running short of supplies.
That meant we “fearpers” were and are able to give our neighbors a helping hand when they needed us.
We “fearpers” have a track record of thinking, learning, and acting that has served us and our communities well.
Some other folks have a track record of denial, finger-pointing and name-calling.
