Biden, who has pledged to nominate a woman as his running mate and a black woman as a justice, knows there is no path to the White House for a Democrat without strong black turnout.
He needs a black woman as his running mate. Why? Because black women are the core of the Democratic base, the party’s most loyal voters. And as Harris made clear in her final debate performance this year, the Democratic Party must stop taking black women voters for granted.
Whether it’s Harris or Demings, Biden needs a smart, strong, loyal, and tough sister by his side. It is the Obama 2008 ticket in reverse. Only this time Biden will be at the top, and he has a chance to change history’s trajectory by putting a tested and trusted black woman in his No. 2 slot—thus setting her up for the best shot a woman has ever had of becoming president in either 2024 if Biden does not run again or in 2028 after two terms.
This is going to be very, interesting. A nutjob and an angry, liberal black woman ONLY for the sake of her color, gender, and votes. That is the wrong reason to pick any candidate, but that’s politics!
More like 2021 when Biden inevitably steps aside for medical reasons.
But Biden has to win first and even Oprah Winfrey on the ticket is not going to beat Trump.
Stacey Abrams? If the Democrats want to push the narrative that Republicans suppress the vote and all that, she’s their gal.

Not familiar enough to comment on Rep. Demings. In my opinion, both Kamala Harris and Stacey Abrams have far too much negative history to attract anything but radical democrats. Contrary to popular wisdom, some dims won’t hold their nose and vote for “whoever’s running”. .
If democrats are set on a female VP candidate, Biden or some TBA candidate will do well to consider Washington, D.C. mayor Muriel E. Bowser for the position. A Washington, D.C. native, Bowser has served as mayor of the District of Columbia since 20115. She was reelected 2018 with 74% of the vote. She hasn’t declared whether to seek a third term in 2022.
Unlike Harris or Abrams, at age 47 Muriel Bowser does not appear laden with personal or political baggage. A single mother with a young adopted daughter, Bowser impresses me as having national potential for either party.
