I think Cuban has in mind wider use of the internet and home computing for work, education, food delivery, and public meetings and events. This is now widely projected because the virus is thought likely to persist as a threat for another year and a half before a reliable vaccine is developed, tested, approved, and widely administered. The result is likely to be a long term change in public habits and preferences.

In addition, the economic malaise and high unemployment of the late 70s and early 80s are now thought to have provided the time and opportunity for otherwise idle inventors and innovators to conceive of the advances that powered the ensuing years and decades. Think of the millions of skilled, ambitious young people now out of work but trying to think of ways to get back in the game. In five or ten years, we will be seeing new, amazing things from them.
