I don’t choose to hate. It’s just a waste and negative energy. But I hate Bill Gates. He is an enemy of the people of the planet. We have a Gd already. And he ain’t it.

On this, I don't think he's too far off. I'm not gonna run right back into hanging around large crowds of people.

And he says that business travel will slow - he's right there. Wifey used to have to travel every 2 months for meetings, but now they're doing them online and found that it works just fine.

Jeff Bezos tried to break the retail economy here too. He failed miserably. Amazon stepped on its dick.

There will be a LOT of companies, high tech ones, that realize they’re wasting money on commercial office space. Maybe not getting rid of the office altogether but downsizing the space they need significantly and letting part of their employees work from home.

Hubby’s office, going forward, has decided that ‘ability to work independently from home’ will be a hiring criteria. I’m willing to bet there will be a lot more making that decision.

Gates was an excellent computer programmer who was in the right place at the right time when IBM put out their first personal computer and he was there with an operating system (DOS) to compete with Apple - after "screwing over" a man named Gary Kildall. But that's a long story right there. Read any number of books about the early Microsoft days. Very interesting stuff.

Gates should have just stayed with Microsoft.

This is not the Spanish flu. Let’s say we allowed the virus to rip ‘er through in America, there would be up to 2.2 million dead. While that would be tragic at the same time the impact would not be too great. Most of the dead would be the elderly and those with preexisting conditions. The Spanish flu went after the young and healthy. Huge difference right there.

Gates is a piker compared to Barry Osambo’s butt-buddy, Billy Bob Ayers, who wants 25,000,00 Americans dead.

Gates can’t keep viruses out of Windows so why listen to him about viruses.

In 1 year everything will return to normal. Most people will have forgotten what they learned during this outbreak.

Bill Gates is a smart person, about what his focus is, but it surely doesn’t mean he is the wise man on the mountain top who has all the answers.

He’s rich, in large measure, because IBM screwed up and let a small start up company, Microsoft, keep the rights to MS-DOS. IBM paid Microsoft ~$430,000 to make that operating system, but let Microsoft keep the rights - so that they could sell it to other companies. It was an oversight/poor decision by IBM, and an opportunity that set Gates on the path to being incredibly wealthy.

There are probably plenty of programers who post on FR, who could have come up with a better operating system, but that wasn’t the path of their lives. My point is just that Gates is a human being, like all others, who worked hard, was smart, but also was fortunate. His opinions on things other than his area(s) of expertise is equivalent to anyone’s opinion. No more, no less.
