F gates, he and his foundation are the problem
Why would buying a home be in the picture? A single family home is far better than apartment or condo living when it comes to a pandemic and he knows that. Typical lefty, that’s all he is.
Bill Gates is a smart person, about what his focus is, but it surely doesn’t mean he is the wise man on the mountain top who has all the answers.
He’s rich, in large measure, because IBM screwed up and let a small start up company, Microsoft, keep the rights to MS-DOS. IBM paid Microsoft ~$430,000 to make that operating system, but let Microsoft keep the rights - so that they could sell it to other companies. It was an oversight/poor decision by IBM, and an opportunity that set Gates on the path to being incredibly wealthy.
There are probably plenty of programers who post on FR, who could have come up with a better operating system, but that wasn’t the path of their lives. My point is just that Gates is a human being, like all others, who worked hard, was smart, but also was fortunate. His opinions on things other than his area(s) of expertise is equivalent to anyone’s opinion. No more, no less.
