There is one other question: Who were their U.S. collaborators on the release? Their names need to be made public knowledge.

That's exactly the point. The evidence that it came from the lab is mounting -- but that doesn't mean that it was intentionally released, it could have, but mere incompetence is also possible. Then the other question: what were they doing with the virus in that lab? There's no such thing as purely civilian uses in China, everything is an extension of the state. It's entirely possible that they were combining legitimate research, but keeping an eye open for a future biological agent that could be used as a weapon. It doesn't need to have been engineered to be considered for use as a weapon, in fact if you look at it the right way, anything can be a weapon. It just depends on how you put it to use.
