Groups plan to protest Va. 'lockdown' in Richmond Thursday
WSET-TV ^ | April 16, 2020 | Elizabeth Tyree

Groups known as ReOpen Virginia, End The Lockdown VA and Virginians Against Excessive Quarantine said they have thousands of people who are gating at Virginia's Capitol Square at 11:30 a.m. There are more than 17,000 members of the REOPEN VIRGINIA group on Facebook.

"It’s time to end this lock down, it’s gone on far enough & we are tired of the misinformation & fear mongering...Time to take our power back!!" the group "End The Lockdown" wrote.

There were similar protests held in North Carolina and Michigan on Tuesday.

In North Carolina, the Raleigh Police Department ordered crowds to disperse since they violated the state's orders.

For the planned protests in Richmond, groups of 10 or more cannot be within six feet of another due to Executive Order 53. That executive order has been extended until May 8.

Last month, Northam gave police departments the authority to enforce his Executive Orders. Local police departments said they hoped residents would comply and they didn't want to hand out citations and state police said they would not be pulling drivers over to check where they are going.

The organizers of the protest said Gov. Northam and the state government is violating their rights.

Government mandating sick people to stay home is called quarantine. However, the government mandating healthy citizens to stay home, forcing businesses and churches to close is called tyranny. Business owners are being forced to layoff employees while the unemployment system is failing those laid off as the economy free falls. This is a recipe for disaster with many in our society helpless. We cannot stand by and watch our neighbors suffer while the government considers prolonging these painful conditions. The economy should be reopened on 5/1 for healthy citizens continuing enhanced sanitation habits to prevent any virus from spreading. Those with compromised immune systems should not have to re-enter the economy or workforce if they do not feel comfortable.

The groups argue the lockdown's "economic and societal consequences will be irreversible."

They did ask for the protests to remain peaceful.

This video was made by dancers from different continents filming themselves in their confinement with their personal phones and computers. It was made in the first week of April 2020 while almost 2 billion people around the globe were unable to move freely due to the restrictions imposed in attempt to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus.

This one might get real. Northram is a dictator and is probably not afraid of spilling a little blood for his socialist cause.

If any Freeper can manage to go, go and attend.

The Narrative has shifted with the Michigan and Kentucky protests.

It spooked the everlasting shit out of Gov. Brassiere yesterday evening. Those protestors finally found the outside window of the press room at the Capital and they laid it ON.

No governor wants to be the last person left alive in the bunker when the invaders get to them.

You must’ve been so pissed when Trump signed bills giving trillions in taxpayer money to unemployed people.

Michigan may have started something.

Wouldn't be the first time. I've lived there, and all I can say is it's more than a state, it's an attitude.

Actually I am upset. I’m getting a check and I’m working full time. I think that only those who have been laid off or whose businesses have been shut down should be getting a check and frankly they should be bigger than $1200 per person.

Most businesses that have been shuttered by this overreaction should not have been shut at all. And this shutter in place reaction is not going to stop the virus. It’s just going to prolong it. Everyone in the world is going to be exposed to this virus. Most of us already have.

ALL counties that are rural and/or do not have large cities in them should be declared free from any shutdown!

NYC has 28,000 people per square mile. Our county in VA has about 100/sq. mile.

SET US FREE!

Incredibly, with my AGI, I’m still getting a check. I plan to split it between The Salvation Army and Samaritan’s Purse. Their clients need the money much more than I do.

I already sent my check back to the Treasury.

I used it to pay my taxes.

BTW your local church is probably in desperate need of support right now.

Especially small Bible Churches like mine.

Trump has talked about a county-by-county review.
Perhaps that is where he is going with this.

Although he’ll have to swallow hard and get over his great respect for Federalism for the greater good.

If you don’t need the money there are plenty of charities who could really use it right now.
