The IRS website was of no help at all with this info. Read a few days ago that the snail mail checks would take weeks or months to distribute but no more info than that. This article clarifies it.

Yes, there is no way to set up direct deposit if it isn’t already in the system. It seems like you’re stuck getting a check sent even if you don’t want one.
I’ve had direct deposit for years, and it originates at your bank. Contact them for direct deposit information.
