We're in an era of firsts, a runaway virus from China comes to mind, but this announcement by President Trump is the very first time anyone has heard an American president make this pronouncement.
President Trump has announced that he's "temporarily suspending immigration into the United States."
In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!

She has a point. He once promised to do an executive order ending birthright citizenship. Never happened.
And last week he threatened to adjourn Congress. He hasn’t said anything more about that.
I hope he’ll follow through on this immigration executive order. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t

Trump: When the democrat governors feel it is safe to re-open their states for their own citizens, then I’ll feel it is safe to re-open the country for immigrants. :-)
So...an injunction will be issued shortly, and Trump’s suspension will be lifted. This thing will take months to wind through the courts, and by the time there’s any kind of ruling, Trump would have lifted the suspension anyway. But the optics of the Democrats fighting in court to let immigrants in while over 20 million Americans have lost their jobs is going to be terrible for the Democrats. I tend to roll my eyes at the 4D chess stuff, but this really is a very clever move.
