A judge in Harris County, Texas, on Wednesday ordered residents to start wearing face masks in public for 30 days beginning next week or possibly face a fine.
But Judge Lina Hidalgos action, which intended to help stem the spread of the coronavirus in the third most populous county in the U.S., drew immediate pushback including from the states lieutenant governor, who called the move the ultimate government overreach, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who wrote that "commonsense guidelines" should never lead to "unjust tyranny."
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick noted in a Twitter message that Hidalgos order affecting some 4 million Texans in Houston and some nearby communities was announced on the same day as plans surfaced for closing a costly temporary hospital because it wasnt needed.

None. Next question?
Exactly. His order is completely unconstitutional. He should be impeached and disbarred for his lack of understanding of the constitutional separation of powers.
Texas has some unusual local legal structures. Judge is more like county executive, super-mayor sort of thing.
It gets better by the day.
Not a judge in the sense your thinking. These “judges” are politicians.
According to wiki: “a nonjudicial position that functions as the County’s Chief Executive”
Reason that justify her decision:
Hockey stick graphs
Case fatality rates
Rate of spread
Experts models
Saving just one life
A vaccine is imminent
and strong support from many Freepers
So is this Judge a 'judicial' judge or the type who may be regarded as the CEO of the county?
Thank you. That answers my question.

Sort of lends credence to the theory that requiring masks has nothing to do with safety, and EVERYTHING to do with control.
It is a “she”: Lina Hidalgo. Recent US citizen, from Colombia.
My question: what motivates someone to come here if they hate the Constitution?
When this position was created I think the title as judge was prolly a poor choice. In regards to this persons background, she is a democrat (of course) born in Bogata Columbia and educated at Stanford U.
This “judge” mainly is a nitwit supreme political affirmative-action hack.
Houston was one of the early hot spots. Wear your mask when out but stay home 99% of the time. No, you don’t need to go to Wally World for more fake nails and polish.

I love my state but certain areas of it like Harris, Travis and Dallas counties are run by complete idiots.
Trump’s solvent-like effect on the political class has been a major blessing for us, and it is exciting to see these all the money grubbing, power mongering cretins smoked out before our eyes.
What will We the People DO about them? Maybe God will give them into our hands as He did our forefathers? Or will He give us into their hands?
Back in mid February when the Chi-Com’s were dragging old women off the streets for not wearing a mask, I thought it would be a good idea to order some masks from Amazon. They had every mask, American or Chinese available, so I found an American brand non-N95 disposables that were about $40 per box of 50 masks. It took a few days, and the 2 boxes I ordered, arrived. Within a week, the media started shaming anyone in possession of such masks, because the hospitals and first responders didn’t do anything to help themselves before I did, and I wouldn’t know how to use them properly. A month ago in March, I decided that disposable mechanic’s gloves would be a good idea for trips into supermarkets/Walmart. There were plenty of them, in every color or type of rubber like material you could need for working under the hood of a car... Same deal. Within a few days, the media started shaming anyone in possession of such gloves, because the hospitals and first responders didn’t do anything to help themselves before I did, and I wouldn’t know how to use them properly. I am not a hoarder or do I stockpile for doomsday events. I just like to be prepared for things I see coming in the very near future, without being shamed for doing something about it.
