It’s not.
Of course, there was a good possibility that with no lockdown, we’d still have been fine. But now we all live and die by the anecdotal evidence that lockdowns are saving us.
When there are no peer-reviewed double-blind studies contrasting lockdown with non-lockdown, to show that lockdown itself improves outcomes.
