Wait a minute. Weren't we just reading that the US should have copied Sweden's plan?

Why yes. Yes, we were.

Hmmm. Guess that No Lockdown policy didn’t work out so well.

I’m sure the Flubros will have a full explanation, though.

I have been very interested in what’s going on in Sweden, and have tried to stay objective. Unfortunately, getting objective information is like trying to get valid information out of Fauci.

•As many as 20 per cent of people in Stockholm may be immune, he suggested

And how is that number derived? How can they be immune unless they have had the disease or a vaccine? I don't think 20% of the population of ANY country has had Covid-19.

They have one of the highest infection rates per capita in the world and their kill-rate is TRIPLE ours.

But let's be like Sweden.

Sweden is doing just fine. They have not locked down. And they have pretty good virus numbers. That is not to say they have skipped past the virus. They did not. Nor did they expect to. They are just developing their herd immunity without wrecking their economy. The point is not to do better than everyone else when it comes to deaths and sickness. The point is that they will do no worse than everyone else. And they will not have ANY economic effects. The point is that the lock down has NO advantage. Lock downs only hurt the economy. Sweden proves it.

Big deal ,Los Angeles saw cases jump 442,000 in one day after the release of a report this week, and everything but taco stands and bathtub cheese makers are shut down.. with the actual deaths and population on the order if magnitude as Sweden

“•The state epidemiologist said Sweden had passed the peak around a week ago

•As many as 20 per cent of people in Stockholm may be immune, he suggested”
************************************************
20% now and the immune percentage is increasing rapidly from that level!

History of this pandemic will look back kindly on Sweden’s strategy.

Is their health care capacity at risk? If not, then so what. There is no containing or stopping this bug. It will run its course, either quickly or slowly. “Flattening the curve” is supposed to ensure the emergency medical system isn’t suddenly overrun. It’s not going to ultimately stop the spread of the bug. If they could do that, we’d never catch a cold.

Anything beyond flattening the curve enough to ensure continued available emergency care is just delaying the inevitable at the cost of destroying the economy. And you have to have an economy to have a health care system in the first place.

Honestly who gives a crap about increasing cases?
Are these people in critical condition? Are they dying in the hospital!?
If not, then who gives a crap! A huge, huge, majority of people get it, and get over it.

Sweden, ah Sweden. 2702 cases closed. 80% of closed cases died. Only 20% recovered. Grim.

The US has had 30,000+ new cases four times in the last nine days, among the highest since the epidemic began. In the last three days we've had our highest daily death total yet, as well as the fifth and sixth highest totals.

It's at least six months too early to draw any definite conclusions about the relative wisdom of our differing approaches. Sweden is trying to develop herd immunity now; we are postponing it.

I haven’t heard squat about how well there ICUs are handling this, but with that many deaths for such a small country, it seems to be a disaster about to get even worse.

The flubros are morons ... and ... Sweden is doing just fine. Their way always assumed taking the brunt up front. Over at worldometer, their numbers are fine ... they AREN'T through the brunt totally, but neither are they getting wiped out.

I still think their way will be just fine. We're all driving a truck through a building. They are driving faster, so more up front damage, but they will be through the building faster too. At least that's the rational path they are following, and there is no conclusive evidence for or against that. There's actually evidence for either, depending on what you want to be right about.

Major Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet declared ‘the corona curve is going in the wrong direction’

One knows that major newspapers are always the most reliable source for non-biased coverage of much needed information and policy decisions.

I just checked worldometer, and today’s new corona virus cases in the US are now at 30,905, with six states - including Massachusetts - yet to report. This is depressing since the two-week “bad” period ended last week, and I was hoping for a steady downturn in new cases. About ten days ago we were teased with a three-day drop, but then a new wave emerged, only slightly lower than the previous high wave of three weeks ago.

Wait a minute. Weren't we just reading that the US should have copied Sweden's plan?

Why not? What are the chances of you coming in contact with the virus in the next year? You do realize of course that statistically there is no way you will ever escape contacting the virus and ultimately you will catch it sooner or later.....?

And when you do, your body will immediately reject it or you will contract it with little or no symptoms whatsoever or in the extreme case that you are in the smaller than 2 percent, you will die...........

That's right bro, that's how a highly contageous virus works...it thrives by jumping from host to host until the availability of hosts ends. And only then does the virus die........Only your immune system can determine that.

This nonsense of shutting down an economy in an attempt to prevent deaths from a virus will not prevent any deaths from happening. Shutting down the economy will not prevent the spread of the virus. All it succeeds in doing is slowing the spread which will eventually hit everyone despite the government.........
