Sweden’s infection rate is currently 1,739/mil and the US is 2,758/mil. The death rate in Sweden is 213/mil and the US is 156/mil. Seems to me things in Sweden aren’t horrible and they still have an economy.
There are lockdowns and there are personal decisions. The latter can still cause huge economic downturn, if people cut way back on their own.
