A White House official ordered a CNN reporter to give up her front-row seat and move to the back of the press room before President Trumps briefing on Friday, in what appears to be another attempt by Trump to punish a network he calls fake news. The reporter, CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins, refused to move, as did a second reporter whose seat in the rear of the room she was ordered to take. The official then suggested the matter would be resolved by the Secret Service, though no action was taken, according to several people involved in the episode.

Trump and his communication people are foolish not to do that. He stands in front of a select group of elitist leftists and empowers them with national FaceTime exposure as they rain disrespect on him. They represent no one other than their corporate masters yet Trump gives them a privileged status they dont deserve.
Its so 19th cenutury to be limiting these briefings to DC insiders in a small White House room. We have the internet, FaceTime, Skype and coast to coast telephone connections. Trump should be taking questions from journalists and average Americans from around the country, not from Jon Karls little insiders club in the bowels of the swamp
You make a lot of sense.
Remember when the press core went all crazy because they said a reporter disrespected Odumbass. Guess it don’t matter to them anymore.
The idea that they leave the choice of who attends these things and where they are seated to the “association” of them is insane. Even if it has precedent. Should not be tolerated. And if the “cool kids” (fake news) opt not to attend as some sort of protest, then the admin ought to move on to some second tier guys.
The whole lockdown would have been a perfect excuse to go virtual and national with a new ring of faces and to end the DC insiders game for good.
Sorry, heres the link:
Its from the Washington Post. April 25, 2020
At least make seating luck of the draw.
Or, perhaps simpler, just start picking at random instead of the big (headed) front seaters.
This would be much more fair to reporters from smaller publications.
CNN has no inherent right to be called on every time, just ignore them until they replace their thug.
I thought you kind of had to do what they say in the White House. Just imagine if I was on a tour and they told me to please step over to that corner of the room... and I told them to F-off like the CNN reporter did.
The seats and questions should be given to local reporters from around the country.
AMEN!
Youre still thinking DC-centric. Whatever their seats, why should this group have a monopoly on questioning the president? Its a big country and their are intelligent reporters - and or there Americans - from coast to coast - who could ask a wider, more diverse array of questions. The DC people werent elected by anybody and Trump, who claims to be anti-swamp, should stop giving the pride of pace
Like I say, Newsom has reporters call in. As California is like a country, that means reporters from all parts of the state can participate. And ireporters dont become celebrities - and cant verbally abuse - when theyre on a phone line thats contrived by Newsom people. Trump could learn something fro Newsom
neil munro?

How about having a Clint Eastwood press conference. Trump speaks to a chair. The chair respectively remains silent. Trump delivers his message and leaves after 10 minutes.
Would get more honest reporting from a wood chair than from the MSM, esp. the WP, NYT, CNN and Politico.
Maybe Trump could take a remote mic and move to the rear of the room.
He would be face to face with the gal from OANN.
The fake news folk would be twisting their necks to see what was going on back there...lol
Back becomes front.
Or make them assembled on the lawn for the presser while the copter blades whine and blow..lol
Fireside chats worked for FDR.
I think he should consider going on CSPANs call-in show. Let reporters from around the country call in , and sverage viewers too
Do this once a week and end the traditional press briefings for good
Very good idea.
Nope. Trump. just did the brilliant thing and just ended these conferences
we won VICTORY !!!! Glorious victory!! on April 16
and Lately these conferences have just been thanking all of the professionals and its time to move onto opening up America
Youll notice there was no Coronavirus Task Force press conference today and I think that weve finished with them
The last six or seven Ive just been reiterating over and over how we :
started with nothing and build up this great testing system
and work professionally and the federal government did such a great job
and delegated authority and worked with all these state governors
including Democrats
And weve done this amazing job making all these ventilators - were the questions about ventilators now ? and we have all these ventilators ! and were going to give all these ventilators to foreign countries who really need them. Etc etc etc
And then we have Pence come on and say how he was praying for everybody and the poor people that died and how the American people of done such a great job of listening to all the directors and so on and so forth
and theyve run the gamut. Theyre done restating the naarative
And its time to move to OPening up America !!
The baseball games ! picnics ! Fairs ! Beaches ! the public parks ! the businesses ! the bars and restaurants ! all of it!!!!
Full capacity! Just like it was a month ago!
USA! USA! USA!
I’d like that.
Have a virtual conference, with Trump in control. When Trump talks, only his mic is live. Only the reporters he calls get face time. Etc.
Well said.
I wish Republicans would grow a pair and stop allowing Democrats to monopolize White House press briefings and presidential debates. Hell, they can’t even defund Planned Parenthood, PBS or NPR. And don’t even get me started on the U.N.
As far as Trump's pressers go, what sense does it make to take accusation after accusation disguised as questions? The 'reporters' accusing him are not even interested in any answers from Trump at all. They're just trying to get him in a gotcha' moment and get their asinine, ridiculous accusations out there for the idiotic democrats to regurgitate. It's disgusting and Trump shouldn't have pressers if that's all it's ever going to be, and they've proved over and over that's all they're interested in.
