South Korea has said that Kim Jong-un, is “alive and well”, downplaying rumours that that the North Korean leader was seriously ill after undergoing heart surgery.
“Our government position is firm,” Moon Chung-in, a special adviser on national security to the South Korean president, Moon Jae-in, said in an interview with CNN on Sunday. “Kim Jong-un is alive and well.”
The adviser said that Kim had been staying in Wonsan – a resort town on the country’s east coast – since 13 April, adding: “No suspicious movements have so far been detected.”

This is not the first time Kim’s absence from public life has sparked rumours about his health. He dropped out of sight in late 2014 but reappeared more than five weeks later using a walking stick. Days later, South Korea’s spy agency said he had undergone surgery to remove a cyst from his ankle.
There’s a lot of info to the contrary.
It may be that China bought out the sister and had Lil’ Kim taken care of.
He’s been neutered, regardless of his actual status. Assuming he is alive,I can only think that he was removed in response to Trump’s overtures.

She’s a real question mark. She’s only in her mid-30’s and her husband is a relative higher-up. I think if she makes waves, she’s going to end up dead and the military oligarchy will have to decide on a successor of their own.
I don’t know if China has decided on her, because she’s a lot easier to control, but if Kim dies it’s going to send the country into chaos.

I caught that too but differently. Trump loves to call CNN fake news but he didn’t in this case. He said he thought the information was incorrect.
He has a way of speaking in with this kind of nuance on purpose, as a message. Perhaps Kim isn’t dead, but he did have a close call. Or, he’s alive but incapable of performing at his position.
I’d take the anti-aircraft missile.
I agree. The first nanosecond had to be very painful - but it would have been a very quick (albeit messy) way to go.
Much less painful than when his father fed Hans Brix to his aquarium full of piranhas (or maybe it was sharks)...
