What you are missing here is that Doc Birx doesn’t want the daily press briefings to end because she and Doc Fauci don’t want to be out of the limelight. Both are totally loving their 15 minutes of fame in the media glow, and the power they have to shape the speed at which our economy is re-opened. Both are Dems, Clinton/Obama lovers, and both get their digs in against Trump in an infinite variety of subtle ways.
I have gotten to the point that the only part of these press briefings I wanted to watch was the interplay of the President with our corrupt MSM press. However, Fauci and Birx hovering in the background and then getting to speak their piece, usually saying something I disagreed with (basically trying to slow down the opening of our economy) was spoiling the whole briefing for me. Birx and Fauci are publicity hounds, and they and their false modeling stats have been infinitely more detrimental to our society than beneficial. I want them both gone, and not having as many briefings or none at all doesn’t particularly bother me. These press briefings have outlived their usefulness, and Trump needs to figure out a new mechanism to get before the public in a more positive way now. Perhaps just occasional briefings, about 2-3 a week, with the emphasis being on the economy and protecting workers’ jobs via stricter immigration rules, using a new cast of characters explaining the steps being taken to get our economy chugging along, with national security interests also being emphasized.
Deprive the foul and ideologically driven press of a forum for their gotcha questions. They screwed themselves out of the former daily white house briefings by misusing their individual pulpits with misleading and nasty questions to the President, and now Prez Trump should cut them off at the knees from doing the same nasty barrage of questioning that they so enjoy, from these coronavirus briefings too. They will have once again shot themselves in their own feet. Good.

They are going to be and real soon as something else is going to take over. They will come back in it and tey won’t like where the light is going tm shine.
It sounds like Birx is still calling the shots, and setting the agenda here, not Trump!
I don’t see Trump leading on this.
