There’s a term in this thread that grates on me like nails on a chalkboard; “pleaded”. If I’m wrong, I’ll get over it. But whatever happened to “pled”? The past tense of plead. If one feeds a person, an animal or a rose bush, they don’t they feeded them. They fed them. There! Not that it’ll make any difference.

whatever happened to pled? The past tense of plead. A few years ago some idiot in charge decided to declare war on irregular verbs. No one asked me or you for permission.
