It is highly predictable (>99.9%) how CNN will respond to any story, so predictable in fact you could probably insert the monologue of the report itself. It’s when the network does something totally unexpected that the conspiracy theories explode.

Neither CNN or any of the other major News outlets gives a rip about the Truth. They are all playing a role while the
DNC decides whether this election is ‘winnable’ at the presidential level. If it is, this Reade story moves forward and Uncle Joe gets replaced at the convention. If it isn’t then the run Joe and focus on winning down-ticket while the party faithful keeps it respectable.

CNN’s role is to keep the story credible. Ignore it now, so that they can break it hard later on. Everybody else had a different role — to simply dismiss it after cursory examination.

But the article points out the smart play would be to get it out there, let it fade away, and no longer be a story by June 1. The article posits that they are doing the exact opposite — NOT protecting him by not covering it at all.

Actually I think that they are going to go with Biden for a while until the convention. Then they are going to dump him using the excuse of him molesting a woman. That will give everybody an out. Biden will probably retire saying that he is going to spend more time with his family.

It’s a fair question. Reading all of Tiana’s analysis, she makes a very good point about the Reade allegations. Even with the addition of the Larry King tidbit, Reade’s most serious claims still generally fail the tests we normally apply to these types of ancient, nearly unprovable, “he said, she said” situations. We lack any sort of physical evidence or even a direct witness to the claimed attack. We would also normally be looking for multiple contemporaneously corroborating witnesses, of which Reade has a few, but far more of her former coworkers in Biden’s Senate office tell very different tales. We would also normally check for a consistent description of events by the victim over the years. Reade fails that test entirely.

You mean like the DNC/media did with Judge Kavanaugh?

If/when we see CNN start to hammer Slo-Joe about the rape/molestation allegation it will be an open sign
the DNC has given CNN the go ahead to drive Joe out of the race so they can select a different candidate before it is too late.
