Cindy McCain used her own charity medical clinic to get her illegal pain drugs Vicodin and Percocet to feed her addiction, which she claimed began over the stress from the Keating Five scandal. The DEA was tipped off, and she was confronted. The McCains initially tried to get it all swept under the carpet, but she still got off since all she had to agree to was to undergo treatment.
