There have several FReepers who analyzed the state data and several weeks ago that the death rate in Democrat run states were in the order of 5 times greater than in Republican led states.

The amount of very fine particles in the air was 150 times higher than was safe. Wuhan is dirtier than Beijing.
***********

China is severely polluted because they don’t follow safe practices concerning pollution.

Which is one of the reasons they unleashed their Wuhan Chinese Virus bio-weapon on the USA and the world.

See this article:

I’m thinking of posting the following as a thread:

Thank you for pointing that out,so why don’t the politicians make decisions based on the data instead of one size fits all? Easy they don’t want red States to look better and thriving while they suffer.

[Blue states are more urban. Duh.]

Red states have urban areas. The difference is that in blue states, urbanites ride the bus or subway. In red states, urbanites drive. City population densities tend to be far sparser in red states. One thing’s for sure - if we ever have a nuclear exchange, the country is gonna end up a lot more Republican.

...you are about 2.9 times more likely to die of COVID-19 if you live a blue state than if you live in a red state.

Unless, maybe they are actually misrepresenting other deaths to Covid-19.

The death rate is being exaggerated by WHO, because the CDC is reporting less than 40 thousand total deaths from Covid-19 out of a total of over 750,000 deaths in the U.S. during the weeks ending 2/1/2020 through 5/2/2020. Half of those Covid-19 deaths included those who also had pneumonia!

Nearly twice as many have died from pneumonia than Covid-19, yet we have never shut down this Country because of pneumonia.

I believe you. My first child was born after I worked 8 months in a European office building with everyone in there smoking, plus everywhere we went people were smoking til he was 2.5 and we came back to the usa. And he’s the kid with the breathing issues.

Same thing with Vietnam.

They have required everyone (everyone) to wear a facemask for almost three entire months. Everyone has in fact, been wearing a mask here, for four or five months.

Thus far, no fatalities.

It has been about three weeks, with no new infections. Apparently there was one new case about a week ago.

They have now even removed the requirement, for wearing masks, though most everyone still does.

Not doubting you, but I’m wondering how Indianapolis fits in at number 7. It is a moderately large urban area, but not overly so. Indiana currently has a GOP governor. In my (humble) opinion, though a newcomer to the state, this place is fairly half and half Dems and GOP, some independents mixed in. There are lots of states with urban areas larger than Indy.

So I’m just wondering what criteria you used to get to Indy being number 7. Does the lack of sunshine have anything to do with this? Is there any correlation that our first case came from the big convention in Boston that was held in early March? Just wondering.

I didn’t list those in order, per se, it was a list of regions that gave high levels of death.

But, Indianapolis is a hot spot for some reason.

I looked at my spreadsheet and Marion county has 363 deaths which is about the thirtieth in number of deaths in a county.

Most counties higher are in New York, New Jersey, Boston. There’s a lot of them from Bosyon to DC.

Outside of that corridor Indianapolis has one of the highest death rates.

Looking at the death per million parameter, because Indianapolis’ rather small size (less than 1M for Marion county), Marion countiy’s death rate is higher than Cook county with Chicago.

I’m still trying to figure out why Indy’s considered a hotspot. I live in an adjacent county to Indy proper. I am fairly certain that the first case in/near Indy has a tie to the Boston area.

"How about, areas where people live three generations to a rent controlled hovel in a walk-up 100 year old brownstone tenement, because it’s all they can afford, not being hedge fund managers or high dollar fudge packing big media finocchios? They get locked down in their hovel, and to go in and out of their ghetto rent controlled ancient tenements, they have to handle how many door handles or other surfaces that everyone else in the building also has to. And none of them tend to be in the habit of good sanitation.

Then, once even one person gets infected, it quickly spreads to everyone in the hovel, including grandma and grandpa, to whom the rent-controlled dump was originally assigned to years ago.

Tell me that doesn’t make some sense, given where the big hotspots are showing up."

This. Chronic chokepoints in vertical living.

However, the older co-hort of these same people gravitate to Ft. Lauderdale and other FL metro high-rises, but perhaps they 'stay put' far more in FL than NY, so their chokepoint exposure decreases dramatically, plus the stronger, more frequent UV exposure in FL.

IIRC at least 20 years ago the primary lung cancer death cohort world wide was Asian women specifically Chinese.

Cooking over hot oils with poor ventilation was cause.
