The name of the building is Abbco Tower. The fire started at 9.04pm, according to Sharjah Civil Defence teams. Residents have been evacuated.
Civil Defence crew from Mina fire station and Al Nahda rushed to the spot to control the blaze after the police operation room received a call reporting flames in the building.
Residents of the nearby buildings were immediately evacuated for their safety.
My friend who lived there said, “Chinese construction.”
Horrible! This is in the UAE, btw. I had to look it up.
The building looks fully-engulfed; how’d they get all those people out... a miracle.
Is that people jumping and on fire?
That is an image I hope to never endure for a place I live.
May God work to guide those within to Him.
Right across from Dubai. In the 90s a lot of the old Eastern Bloc and Russians set up biz there.
I am guessing another Ramadan related cooking fire.
Based on the photo, it looks already like a disaster.
The demolition should be interesting.
The cladding? Again?
Another flammable curtain wall fire??
In that case, probably built by a corrupt construction company. Its a truly horrible fire, and I cant believe how fast it moved.
Could be. Lots of Bosnians were there at the time. Very different than Dubai.

Looks more like debris.
Doesnt look like a disaster was averted. Fire probably stopped when there was no fuel remaining.
