The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent non-surgical treatment for a benign gallbladder condition.
Bader was treated at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore and is resting comfortably and plans to take part in Wednesdays teleconference arguments, the court said.
The Supreme Court released the following statement:
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis, a benign gallbladder condition, this afternoon at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Following oral arguments on Monday, the Justice underwent outpatient tests at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., that confirmed she was suffering from a gallstone that had migrated to her cystic duct, blocking it and causing an infection. The Justice is resting comfortably and plans to participate in the oral argument teleconference tomorrow morning remotely from the hospital. She expects to stay in the hospital for a day or two.

Although only God can make anyone live forever, I’m sure Old Scratch fed Ruth Buzzi a great line of B.S. to make her THINK she would.
She’s a walking gallstone. In more ways than one.
Obstruction of the common bile duct leading to infection in a patient with pancreatic cancer but caused by a gallstone? A gallstone de novo in an 86 year old who is as thin as a bird?
Sure.
She has acute cholecystitis — which means active infection an needs drainage. She has pancreatic CA. Endoscopy would require an ERCP with a possible extraction. In the setting of pancreatic CA with likely blockage related to pancreatic CA which would cause a stone not to pass, it would not achieve the goal to do endoscopy — additionally there is really no such thing as light anesthesia in that case. I would bet a nickel they had to drain her and couldn’t do it anterograde (why else would the say acute cholecystitis). The tx of the infection is source control which means either removal, or percutaneous drainage, but what the hell do I know,,,I have only given anesthesia for about 8000 cases just like this one.
I disagree — to undergoing a lap choke says a lot
no....I think maybe they did an ERCP....perfectly acceptable if it worked...
I am with you on this one —
Well...if you had been paying attention...
Agreed, i hope she lasts until Trump is re-elected.
McConnell wont allow that. And it will definitely bring the left out to vote.
One year ‘rule’ only applies if this was President Trump’s last term. Just as it was the Obloviator’s last term when McConnell nixed Garland. Since it isn’t, let ‘em scream.
Nothing is ‘benign’ at her age.
If anybody wants to know why the donkeys are so desperate look no further than Ruth Buzzard. If even one of the Gang of Four goes it will really set them back but Thomas is pretty old and Alito isn’t young either so they could conceivably get a seat back but imagine two of the Gang of Four go and get replaced by Trump.
Imagine Thomas decides to retire during his 2nd term and Trump gets to keep that seat out of reach for them too. The Supreme Court would simply be out of reach for them for a whole generation.
All the legislating from the bench, gone. All the gun grabs, gone. Hell, probably lots of other blatantly unconstitutional stuff they’ve gotten away with for a couple generations, gone. Panic is setting in.
Don’t be so quick to blame old Ruthie. She’s probably received threats from her leftist taskmasters that she is not allowed to retire until they installed their own executive.
If she were to pass, is it too late and with the Chinese wuhan coronavirus too complicated to get a replacement seated this year?
Could he do a recess appointment if he calls a special congress and they don’t show?
Realistically it would be a hell of a battle. Oddly (and I know there are folks around here who don’t care for the man) but the turtle is the one guy who might be able to pull it off. In a town where everyone seems to to bed at night humming “Hail to the Chief,” he goes to sleep memorizing arcane rules of parliamentary procedure. He can’t turn water to wine, but he is pretty good at counting votes and if he says he can get it done, I’d not want to bet against him. But yeah it would be bloody battle to be sure. FWIW I think we are getting close to the point where it would be all but impossible.
Surgical or not....anything "acute" at that age is not good
And "Non-Surgical"...is she too frail to undergo surgery..?..just askin for a friend.
I would not bet on the second amendment since few or no justices are gun owners of any mention.
I’m surprised she doesn’t have the babies delivered to her home like Hillary does.
