The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to temporarily block a ruling that requires the Justice Department to give Congress certain secret grand jury material from the investigation conducted by former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in March cleared the way for Congress to access secret evidence from Muellers investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election in one of a set of separation-of-powers lawsuits between House Democrats and the Trump administration.
Solicitor General Noel Francisco told the Supreme Court on Thursday that if it does not put the order on hold, the government will have to disclose those materials on May 11, 2020, which would irrevocably lift their secrecy and possibly frustrate the governments ability to seek further review.

Too many years of “review” already.
My cynical side says delay for review equals cover-up. I’m sick of government dragging it’s feet on information that should be public.
Do they normally release grand jury material?
Its not public information. Its grand jury material that is supposed to remain confidential.
Fake news. The Trump admin is not requesting this. The DOJ is requesting it. And its required by law to do so.
No, I don’t think so.
Thanks to today’s news, there was no predicate for Mueller’s investigation. Thus, all the grand jury testimony is passing gas.
My take on it is that the Democrats want it released hoping there is something they can use for political attacks on Trump or people associated with Trump. Allegations, innuendo, whatever...factual basis not required.
