SWANTON, Vt. (AP) — The number of people apprehended for illegally crossing from Canada into the United States along its northern border has nearly tripled over the past three years, and a growing portion is Mexican citizens, according to federal data.
One Mexican man who crossed illegally to work on a Vermont dairy farm said it was easier than trying the southern border.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics obtained by The Associated Press after a public records request provide new detail on what was apparent anecdotally: Along the border from Maine to Washington, 446 of the 1,586 illegal crossers apprehended in the 2019 fiscal year were Mexican or 28%. That’s up from 20 of 558, or just 3.6%, in 2016.
The numbers also increased for Romanians — many identified as ethnic Roma — and other nationalities, such as Haitians and Indians. Those tallies don’t include apprehensions for reasons other than illegal crossings, such as overstaying visas.

The issue of sovereignty should not be allowed to get twisted into being propagandized as “White Nationalism”. Use of that term is usually directed when the immigration issue is brought up to devalue of the protections an American citizen have by being one. When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoid enforcing the reciprocal 2nd class treatment that American citizens get while legally residing in Mexico which of course also includes denial of voting privileges..
Today’s so called democrats insist Americans must allow illegals storm in here by the hundreds of thousands despite their cost to us of billion$ in tax dollars,which is never enough. Tax money that should be going to our citizens for their sustenance,health,education,and housing even infrastructure needs. But Americans must do the tax flagellating punishment because we’re the very rich United States and must divert those billion$ to fill the needs of those poor illegals plus give them the right to vote. Sustained by our tax money which our children’s children if not aborted will be paying for.?
It’s time we consider illegal entry by any person who is a non Mexican citizen illegally entering the United States through the US Mexican border a defacto Mexican citizen with limited Mexican constitutional rights subject to their laws while transiting. As well as any Mexican citizen entering illegally exempting those who do so legally and meet US citizenship requirements.
And subject to reciprocal citizen treatment a citizen of the United States receives in Mexico through the Mexican constitution on citizenship .
According to the Mexican constitition any American legally in Mexico Besides being unable to vote one must also be a citizen to own land and Mexico is very restrictive about granting citizenship. Because of that a US citizen besides not being able to vote,and cannot have title in their name to any land property in Mexico. And until that is changed the US and the affected state should consider making that reciprocal. Prohibiting any illegal entrant employment, voting, and land ownership privileges fully enforced .. In other words Sneak into this country before expulsion no job, no voting, no landowning
Close the borders and shoot anyone crossing. Put the fear of God into these invaders. And for anyone working, find the employers and throw them in jail, close their businesses, seize their funds for profiting via illegal labor. Use that money to fund the wall.

Airplane or ship. Air fare between Mexico and Canada is rather low.

Good point. I grew up in Vancouver and what’s weird is that the immigration system is tough based on the points system. No matter where you came from, it comes down to capital, education..making sure you wont be a drain to the system. On the other hand, the temporary foreign worker system is limited BUT almost anyone can apply for it, like H1B here.
Back during the Vancouver Olympics, there were more mexicans at the YVR airport going back to mexico with lots of money as they were the forefront of construction. I’m amazed how they displaced the Punjabi/Indian majority who are entrenched as the construction “mafia” there lol
Im from Vancouver and it’s not a stretch to find $45 from LAX to YVR at a day’s notice. I paid for it more than one time when there was pre-production work for Warner and needed me to get my ass there pronto. I think last flight, around midnight..
That’s an easy one. They cross the southern border by swimming the Rio Grande. So it’s obvious they got to Canada by swimming the Pacific or Atlantic. Sheesh! My 5 yo grandson coulda figured that one.
Mexicans coming in to the US from Canada?? How the heck can they afford to travel so much?? I’ve heard of illegal Mexican “immigrants” showing up in Hawaii too. Heck, I want to go to Hawaii but I can’t afford it!
