I wouldn't be so sure.

Fox News showed a report where farmers opened the milk tankers and let the milk run out on the streets. Other farmers dumped their potatoes to let them rot.

While I believe this is an attempt to create a shortage and to raise the prices, but still.

Why do you believe that? The milk is continually being produced. The cows do not stop producing it because of the Coronavirus shut down of restaurants.

There is no place to store it. It has to be got rid of some how.

Similar with the potatoes. Without the normal distribution chain, there is no place to store the excess.
