Take the Shutdown Skeptics Seriously:
This is not a straightforward battle between a pro-human and a pro-economy camp.

Obviously, the economy and country would crumble if we kept everyone home until COVID-19 was extinguished. Also, we cant stop being reinfected, due to travel and even people pulling out freezer packages with preserved COVID-19 on them.
So we must shut it all down for many more months, because Im a Fearper and I dont care about the economy or this country. I care that someone ten states away got out of their home today and put ME at risk! That idiot!
Im a Fearper, and I approve this message. May the United States fall before someone who is not myself is allowed to wander outside and risk infecting me!

Today, while out for a walk sans mask, a karen walking the other way made sure her mask was on tight, and *ran* to the grass edge of the sidewalk to avoid my horrible, possible virus-laden exhalations. I laughed.

Pausing the economy isnt about fighting a virus but about fighting Trump.

My state is under all kinds of lockdown orders. I went into a retail store yesterday to replace my mobile phone. There were signs all over the outside telling customers that they must wear face coverings under the orders of the governor.
Not a single employee in the place was wearing any kind of face covering. LOL.

Would Fauchi & company have pushed for a shutdown if Hitlery™ was POTUS?
An honest answer to this question will tell you if this was motivated by public health concerns or politics ...

Another funny thing happens on my walks in that area. It is creekside and there have been signs posted that the creek is closed (big kayak and tubing scene) and yellow ‘crime scene’ tape is across all paths down to the creek. Twice now someone has ripped down the tape and removed many of the signs. I approve.

Probably for the better. While grocery shopping today an not wearing a mask, for, uh, medical reasons watched almost every mask-wearing employee touch the front of the mask and adjust it at least once during my trip. Yep, so much better.

While possible, the freezer bag, grocery bag virus thing isn't gonna happen. I have more chance of getting hit by a train our jogging tonight.

In my town, parks are open but playgrounds are closed for safe and people keep ripping the police line tape off about once or twice week. They also took out picnic tables for safety reasons, then said as a result of increased visits had ports-potties dropped off.
Too dangerous to eat at a picnic table, bust safe enough to use a porta-potty. Idiots, idiots everywhere.

Possibly. But the media would be blowing sunshine up our collective asses about what a good, nay, fantastic and we should bow because we are not worthy (not worthy) job she was doing standing between us and certain internment in mass graves.

I was really hoping that by now there would be some really clever anti-mask T-shirts for sale on the web, especially now that it is becoming T-shirt weather. But I haven’t seen any.

Time for a thought experiment. Would Fauchi & company have pushed for a shutdown if Hitlery was POTUS? An honest answer to this question will tell you if this was motivated by public health concerns or politics ... Actually, I think they would have.
All for our own good, of course.
The dems/libs are itching for reasons to take away our freedoms and liberty and impose a socialist/totalitarian state on us.
They would have gotten a lot f mileage out of this towards achieving that goal, so yes, I think it would have happened anyways.
