Bloomberg-Founded Gun Control Group Pledges $8M to Turn Texas Blue

Mike Bloomberg-founded Everytown for Gun Safety is spending $8 million in hopes of turning Texas blue in the November 2020 elections.

KRGV reports that Everytown already pledged the money and will, this Thursday, name “three staffers to help with its Texas campaign.”

Everytown senior political adviser Charlie Kelly commented: “[Texas is] clearly emerging as a top battleground state — there’s just no question about it — and it’s why we’re investing $8 million in the state this cycle. Between the investment and our network of 400,000 grassroots supporters, our goal is to do whatever it takes to elect gun sense candidates up and down the ballot in the state.”

The gun control group made clear they hope, this year, to do in Texas exactly what they did in Virginia in 2019. Democrats took control of the Virginia legislature in 2019, thereafter pushing a slew of new gun controls on law-abiding citizens.

On April 10, 2020, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s (D) office announced he signed a number of the Democrat-sponsored gun controls, including universal background checks and limitations on the number of handguns law-abiding Virginians can purchase each month. He also signed legislation putting the onus on law-abiding gun owners by requiring they report stolen firearms within 48 hours “or face a civil penalty.”

Well, you have austin (lib cap) and san antonio which says "chinese virus" is hate speech. Add in margabby keleegiffords bunch and shannon t watts to the mix and Texans need to pay close attention. Believe me, they will spend any amount the need to subvert the Bill of Rights.

In Austin they’re starting to experience intermittent problem with people crapping in the street (still not a San Fransisco though).

Not coincidentally the so-called progressives in Austin have been crapping on the rest of the State for years.

I don’t think Texas turns blue yet but in 8 years it probably will. Arizona provably will flip first. What the GOP needs are states to flip blue to red or were in trouble. Michigan was good but then fell back to blue in 2016. Wisconsin the same thing. We need to figure a way for permanent blue to red in the next decade for sure.

The good news is Texas is unlike Virginia a long way from DC.
Many Hispanics I know like their guns.
Studies say,,,this is more BS from MSM.

I agree with you on that. Texas governors Perry and Abbott made a horrible mistake aggressively recruiting California and New York for people and companies willing to move there.
They economy exploded, but they poisoned the electorate. They are the classic capitalist selling the rope that will be used to hang them.

They could spend 8 million or 8 billion and it is not going to turn Texas blue, not this year, not in 100 years.

The two most recent polls out of Texas had Trump and Biden in a statistical tie. Of course we are six months from the election so I’m not ready to put too much emphasis on polls just yet. And of course there are the shadow Trump supporters who don’t show up in polls. That has generally translated into an extra 1-2%. Still, it is not good that things are this close in Texas.

when evil or sedition is combined with immense wealth, you get highly dangerous (and quite often, successfully destructive) people like Bloomberg and of course, Satan on Earth himself:SorozNazi. Such tremendous hubris to try to force their kcufing krap on people, especially on people in states where they do not even care to reside. We really need to find ways to shut these evil forces down ASAP!

If you could put a star on the top of every tall building outside of Texas that has been built with Texas money in places like Atlanta, Charlotte, LA, even New York, and indeed, in most major cities across the country, you would have a small galaxy. Texas swats at $8 million like a common housefly.

So, is this the NBC slanted to Democrats by 12% poll?

They might as well just throw the money over the wall to help illegal aliens sneak in and vote Democrat.

Were those the same polls that said Beto was going to thrash Cruz in the 2018 Senatorial Race?

That’s what I thought.

A fool and his money...

You got that right. For a Bloomberg group to spend 8 million on adds and crap, Bloomberg had to pay them 12 million to do it.

Much cheaper to just bribe politicians like China.

Hell. That idiot threw a half billion dollars into the crapper for what.....4 lousy delegates?

Just proof that having a ton of money doesn’t make one either smart or wise.

Bless his heart.
