Whenever I had to fly to either SF or LA I never ventured out but stayed in the company provided hotel until the flight the next day. You could smell it on th air.
I went TDY to a USMC utilities contracting course at 29 Palms in ‘86. No on-base lodging, so I stayed off base in a motel that was surrounded by 8 foot hurricane fencing topped with concertina wire. I spent high school in Caracas and never saw Thug City like I saw in southern California.
Oh, no. The homeless got moved into 4-star hotels where they are free to trash the place without any payment and with no reimbursement to the hotels. THAT'S CA logic.
