More churchgoers now believe President Trump is anointed by God as he heads into the 2020 election, according to two professors who study religion and politics.
In a "Religion in Public" blog post on Monday titled "Trump The Anointed?" Ryan Burge, assistant professor of political science and graduate coordinator at Eastern Illinois University, and Paul Djupe, an associate professor of political science at Denison University in Ohio, called it a "phenomenon that is sweeping American religion."

Well, we certainly pray to God to protect and inspire President Trump.
Not the same thing but let us all keep praying.
I would not expect the average university professor to know anything like that firsthand. Most professors are either atheist or agnostic while in public. Only rarely do you see
an ‘out and proud Christian’ still on the job.

There is a difference in being anointed by God to serve and being placed in a position by God to serve.
Scripture is clear when it says: Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Romans 13:1 (NASB)
When studying this verse, it doesn’t mean that every leader is “anointed” by God. Think of Hitler, Stalin, Mao. Were they “anointed” or were they simply allowed to be in authority because of God’s plan?
Some people will twist words to fit their own narrative. If Trump wins re-election it means it was established by God, not necessarily that Trump was anointed by God. There is a difference.
For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. —— Romans 13:4

In an election between Hillary and Trump or Biden in Trump it’s easy to figure out which side is good and which is evil.
Professors, that are likely atheists, that believe they know the minds of church goers.... Yup, gotta love science...
Truth be known, all in government leadership are placed there by God — even the evil ones. Romans 13:1 (KJV) “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

I stayed up the night of the election into the early morning hours to see who would win. When Trump won I knew it was God’s doing as his winning was so unlikely. I still believe that.
So says the people who worship politics.
Most university professors are jealous because they think they are god.
The Bible is crystal clear that it is God who sets the rulers and takes them down. So in that sense, they are correct. God is in control.
