The veto is not for the failed amendment - it’s for the re-authorization of the expired sections of the Patriot Act. Given that it’s been used as a license to spy on Republican pols and deplorables, the whole thing should be repealed.

That what these amendments supposedly were to do. So perhaps he is upset that they were not accepted, I venture to guess, which means he desires the same as you. 8>)
