I hope you are wrong, but I would not be surprised if he is.

Fauci is not a practicing doctor - he is a researcher with an MD education. For the last 52 years he has been sitting at a desk getting a government paycheck to not be a practicing doctor.

When he started being on a government payroll, Lyndon Johnson was President. Denny McLain won 31 games. The Chicago 7 weren't even on trial yet. Disco had not made an appearance yet, although the Beatles were about to break up.

Yet Trump kept him on. Why?
The damage is done.

For a realistic world view, between Brian Kemp and Anthony Fauci I’ll go with Kemp.

If it were only that simple then we could almost forgive him.

Kworantim and Kworantina have made careers of selling fear to the people to justify stealing huge sums of money from the taxpayers. The money isnt spent on research, its laundered through various foundations and branches of the UN where the money is used in part to create more chairs for them to sit. The more boards they sit on the more capable they have become of playing their role in defrauding the taxpayers.

The very concept of “official expert” is fraudulent and dangerous for a limited government federal constitutional republic.

The very idea of official experts grants to such persons a status that no one deserves or should be given. The progressives (who designed the modern regulatory state), and many of the so called experts that obtain the “official expert” titles strongly want the public to accept the pretense of their status - that it is as if by mere appointment to their positions the person is somehow magically imbued with incontestable opinions about the matters they are appointed to render decisions and opinions on.

The very idea of it is illogical and irrational.

Of course there is and ought be EXPERT differences of opinion. There is never any one God Almighty above all else expert opinion.

What our form of government, for its own preservation needs is to NOT have government appointed official expert positions, but, when as needed, to call upon different outside experts to provide their different opinions that our government officials can consider in their decision making.

No president should be listening to or accepting the opinion of one Dr Fauxi. There are many good opinions out there by people as well qualified academically as Dr Fauxi. They should be heard as loudly in government and the media as Dr Fauxi.

He is no doubt near retirement.

Half of the idiots in Congress, and many more throughout government, are long past the time when they should have retired.

Corrupt, arrogant, miserable old bastards, who should step aside and give someone else a chance. Most have been in Congress or their government appointments position for so long, they don’t even know what’s going on outside D.C. anymore.

But is that power a product of influence he seeks to wield, or has it been conferred by politicians and the press?

Dem politicians using him against Trump and the media using him against Trump. Fauci is guilty of two things: 1) His Avenatti frequency of press appearances are totally unnecessary, totally over done, that his HIS fault and his alone. He either gets off on the limelight or he is unaware that it is unnecessary and counterproductive to the end goal, moving forward. It's easy to overly protective if your job is not on the line and you have a defined benefit pension plan unaffected by the market collapse, that is Fauci.

2) He needs to be aware enough that he needs to be a team player, not a one man show. His actions are borderline as he seems to enjoy opposing the WH message.

“We can start with the fact that HE PAID FOR THE GODDAMN VIRUS.”

And most likely he will be handsomely paid when ... ta da! ... “his” vaccine magically can cure the virus he created.

He’s not head of NIH. He’s directed NIAID — one of NIH’s 27 institutes — for 153 years. Pretty lofty position all the same!

You are correct and I do apologize. I thought he was head of the NationaL Institute of Health but it’s something about Infectious Disease and Allergies.

‘But what about the crushing blow to one of the joys of our human existence?’

is this guy nuts...? shaking hands a is ‘joy of human existence’...? Humans went centuries with out shaking hands, were they not enjoying the ‘human experience’...?

to each his/her own; myself, I could leave hand shaking behind and not miss a beat; others, not so much...

Yeah Fauci is a pain and protecting his and others’ money.

All you really have to do is look at the prediction graphs of all the entities doing such work.

Once you take into account the size of the error channels the predictions are useless for making life and death decisions.

Do you want more to die of the virus or more to die of the stress of a depression?

Can’t answer that one either, no matter all the huffing and puffing from both sides of the argument.

As Vonnegut wrote, there is a very technical term that describes the accuracy and usefulness of our knowledge in this area.

The term is: Doodley Squat.
