The Danger of Letting Lab Coats Run the World

It should be clear by now that most of the world's leaders were stampeded over the lockdown cliff like so many lemmings. What caused the stampede is even more remarkable: a tiny coterie of obscure, soft-spoken epidemiologists in white lab coats playing with numbers.

Americans trying to keep up with the torrid pace of new developments over the past few months have been hearing about that work — the data-modeling these people do by feeding selected data and a variety of assumptions into a computer. The computer then disgorges diagrams and charts that attempt to describe the future progress of diseases like COVID-19. The most frequently cited COVID-19 modelers are those at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington and similar organizations at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and the Imperial College in London.

Imperial College is where the brightest star in this tiny constellation emerged. He is Dr. Neil Ferguson, director of the Centre for Global Infections Disease Analysis at the college. Until a little sex scandal sidelined him just recently (delicious story for another day), he was also a key member of the group that has been directing the British government's response to the coronavirus. For that work, the thin, pale, bespectacled 52-year-old has been given a shorter title: Professor Lockdown.

A true leader would take the advice of the epidemiologist seriously but he or she must also take into account other factors, for example, the damage to the economy and the deaths that will clause.

1. "We need to lockdown for 2 weeks tops to 'Flatten the Curve.'

2. "We need to keep this lockdown in place for 2 months, and you have to wear a slave mask, and we'll sic the police on you if you don't, and you can't buy garden seeds. And we have to have 'mail in voting' for the fall election. And bailouts of state pension funds."

3. "We need to keep this lockdown in place indefinitely, and there will never be a return back to 'Normal' - not without a vaccine, and that could take years."

4. "You will never be able to take your slave masks off, travel freely, or work again, until you accept ID2020."

I tried to watch a biography on Josef Mengele last night. I stayed with it up to the point where he started his experiments on twin children; after that I had to turn it off.

It's frightening to realize the evil that can exist in human beings.

I cannot recommend Plandemic enough. It’s on YouTube. Astonishing. This tiny Fauci is worth a whole lot of money.

Why?

The Bayh-Dole Act. It allows people working for government agencies to personally benefit from the patents filed while working for the government.

This guy is both a thief and a someone likely guilty of voluntary manslaughter on a massive scale. Same for the head of the CDC.

It's interesting that in 'Atlas Shrugged' the heaviest government boots belonged to Dr Floyd Ferris. A scientist that craved power, more and more power. His money quote:

"We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them...you create a nation of lawbreakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Rearden."

The lab coats will be the last ones to go unpaid, so they need not be concerned about the first ones.

As a retired executive (their word, not mine) in a large corporation with tens of thousands of engineers and scientists, I interfaced with thousands of ‘experts’. Many were extremely well versed in their own fields of expertise, but were simply clueless outside of that. Even so, they were quite effective at their jobs. The only ones among them that I considered as ‘brilliant’ were the ones that recognized their own limitations, and didn’t venture far beyond them. These were few and far between. Expertise can invite arrogance.

Medical doctors can easily fit in this group. Their education and training can easily span decades. Their expertise is admired, desired, and unachievable by most of us. Arrogance is almost always a necessary part of their lives. Otherwise, second guessing every life threatening decision they must make would drive most people crazy.

That all said, Dr. Fauci clearly fits well into the group of highly educated and trained experts who is clueless when outside his field of expertise. He is simply not the right person to make economic or political decisions. In fact, I would not trust ANYONE who spent his life in the Swamp in that role, particularly now.

I WISH someone would point out that Fauci has never seen patients.....he has always been a research MD. And many, many MDs who actually see patients are silenced as they aren’t following the talking points from the Left. They are covered up by Youtube and Facebook because they are promoting ‘false content’ (not toeing the Leftist line). LET THEM SPEAK!

I describe such people as brimming with facts and knowledge but not knowing what to do with them.

They require strong management to keep them on the right track.

The biggest problem is that they see We the People as little more than lab rats and love to test their theories in real life.

Just look at the Common Core education program. Most of an entire generation were subjected to real life testing of an education theory that failed them. Test scores dropped significantly instead of rising for the better part of a decade. How much future productivity was lost?

Now Bill Gates-n-company want to experiment with the lives of the global population. They don’t learn from these mistakes because they have nothing to lose and don’t object to the loss of a few million lab rats or carbon footprints.
