Mike Garcia reacted on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday to becoming the first Republican to flip a Democratic House seat in California in more than two decades saying, “There's an awakening here in California.”
Democrat Christy Smith conceded the special election race for California's 25th Congressional District to Garcia on Wednesday, marking the first time Republicans will retake a Democratic-held congressional seat in the state since 1998.
Garcia, a former Navy combat pilot, had a 12-point edge over Smith, a state assemblywoman, as of late Tuesday night in the contest for the swing-district seat vacated by Katie Hill after her resignation.

My wife is a native born Californian and I lived there for 30 years. Our jobs left the state in 1998 and we went with them, haven’t been back to the Golden State for a visit since 2017.
There’s going to be an awakening all over America come November. Of course the hateful media will claim it’s all crazy Trumper’s .

So when will Mike Garcia be up for election again?
If the California version of “ballot harvesting” can be declared an illegal and unconstitutional interference in the election system, then Republicans (and other minority parties) stand an outside chance of actually getting an honest tally on the vote count.
As it is, “voting” in California is about as honest and valid as “voting” in the old Soviet Union. Kabuki theater, no real competitive votes permitted.
Garcia and Smith will be on the ballot again in November.
Its a 12 point lead. They cant cheat if its not close.

All 435 members of the House are up for re-election every two years, so November 2020.
That is what I was thinking. So the democrats will get a chance to “fix” this real soon. My guess is that they drastically underestimated how much cheating they would have to do to win.

It was a Republican seat for over 20 years and Knight should never have lost it in 2018. Getting it back shouldn’t be a big surprise and now Garcia needs to hang on to it for another 20 years at least.
This was a one-off election... Too much scrutiny for cheating. Not so in the general in November. This special election should not be an excuse to ease up... Kalifornia Republicans had better damn well have a ballot harvesting plan.
Im a born and raised Californian, Id hope that MAYBE MAYBE this was an awakening but I doubt it, LA County is overwhelmingly commie, illegal alien stronghold..other parts of CA are Conservative but LA County and of course SF are commie so CA has no chance but I will gladly eat my words if something different happens in November
