Here’s where Maryland counties stand on reopening as state’s coronavirus stay-at-home order lifts(May 14, 2020)

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan lifted the state’s stay-at-home order and announced the easing some coronavirus-based restrictions on businesses and gatherings beginning 5 p.m. Friday.

It comes as the state sees a slight drop in the number of patients hospitalized for the coronavirus, a metric that his administration will use to guide the gradual reopening of the state.

Hogan said he is replacing the order with a “Safer at Home” advisory that will not be enforced by the rule of law. It allows manufacturing, retail, haircuts and worship services to resume with limitations.

But some local officials have said they don’t yet feel comfortable reopening. The governor’s administration has said counties can go at their own pace.

Here’s what jurisdictions around the state are planning ahead of Friday’s 5 p.m. deadline:

Anne Arundel County The county will take a slower approach to reopening, including allowing retail businesses to open for curbside pickup, as well as hair salons and beauty salons to open for appointment only. Religious services will not be allowed.

Baltimore City The city will keep its stay-at-home order in place, meaning all existing restrictions on retail, religious services and gatherings remain.

Baltimore County The county will allow retail stores to reopen for curbside pickup and delivery only, and the remaining manufacturing firms initially deemed nonessential can resume operations.

But religious institutions may not begin holding worship services and ceremonies indoors, and personal services, including barbershops, nail salons and hair salons, must remain closed.

As certain counties open businesses Marylanders can drive to them from their own counties that keep them closed.

Keeping Prince George's, Montgomery and Baltimore city in lockdown makes sense because that is where the large number of cases are.

As of April 8 Baltimore city had 75 murders,

And Delaware, who knows what’s going on. Masks required (mine says “Under Duress”), stores reopening sometime, but some are open,
restaurants in the future, schools may or may not open in the fall, etc.

Lockdown Larry, Profile in Courage.

The decision to close is all MINE.
Decision to open is up to the counties, up to and including all my rules. None beyond.

State Circle
Annapolis, MD
Reopen Maryland protest.

The last one, along with the Federal Lawsuit against Hogan was responsible for his caving earlier than he planned.

Amendment 1

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Peaceable assembly and redressing a grievance with the government. Good to go

That's been suspended with the emergency order.

Protesting was not deemed ‘essential’

And of course, no word at all about Cecil County. It’s like we don’t exist.

RE:”Are the 75 murders, CoVid-19 related?”

My point was more that the City decided to keep the original Hogan lock-down in place. and murder was not deemed an ‘essential’ activity, yet the murders continue.

Baltimore County (which is separate fromm Baltimore City) is keeping most things closed. I guess County Exec Johnny O wants to play tyrant for a while.

I’m in Montgomery.

Home depot was packed yesterday and we can’t get a haircut.
