I wonder if this will result in the great de-citying of the country?

It may drop the average age by a few years.

I had an opportunity to see a death certificate recently and noticed that there is room on the DC to describe a complex sequence of events leading to death.

A person affected by coronavirus ultimately does not die directly from the virus but because of how it affects their lungs or heart, etc. So even if the major reason they died was because of how the virus affected their body, and even if they had no pre-existing conditions, it's not going to just say "Covid-19" on the death certificate.

So I think this headline is probably misleading, especially if the people counting the death certificates for this announcement were not doctors.

Ban cars and trucks. Save another 30,000 deaths.

Wilma Wooten is a non elected affirmative action gubmint employee. She probably is a member of the SEIU gubmint employee union.

FL pop 22 million
MA pop under 7 million.
NY pop 19 million
Why does MA/ NY have double the numbers than FL when they have been lockdown for 2 months and we are open in FL?

Why does MA/ NY have double the numbers than FL

  1. They are run by dems and rinos
  2. They use public transportation
  3. Colder climate enhances outdoor spread (no airborne spread at all above 85 degrees)
  4. Libs don't have common sense

I think it doesn't matter if it is, this has to end.

I am 81 my wife is 78 and we say open it up we don't want to sacrifice millions to depression to lessen our personal risk and neither should you.

We went to Costco this morning, they have seniors only from 8:30 to 9:30, and looked at meat prices. Cheapest beef was chuck roast at $10.00 dollars a pound. NY strips were $14.00 and no hamburger in sight. I found sirloin roast already cooked for $6.49 and we haven't even hit the worst of times yet. Set our people free.

ps. Toilet paper was plentiful tho limited to one twelve roll package.

How many of those 6 (or 194) dead people received the gold standard treatment for COVID-19, the Trump Cocktail?

I don't think the current beef shortage at Costco is only due to the shutdown, because the shutdown did not directly affect food processing. The shortage is due to the fact that so many of the workers in the beef plants have coronavirus.

They are going to have to get the plants reorganized so that the virus doesn't spread so easily. My expectation is that this will get straightened out but it might take a while.

I agree with you that things are going to have to be opened up. But that doesn't mean we have to abandon all precautions.

I heard one of the people from the Costco meat department once telling someone that you can make your own stew beef by cutting up top round, bottom round, or eye of round. I was trying to eat a lot more protein (and save some money), so I started doing that.

I cut up and put away 1-pound bags of beef. These can be defrosted and then cooked on the stove, and it comes out quite excellent in my opinion. Having all these bags make it easy to know how many days of meat you have stored.

At first the price was $5.50-$6 a pound at Costco. Then the price went down to $5 but the quality wasn't as good. Then it disappeared briefly. Then the other day it was about $7 (which of course should be the price for higher quality).

Probably not everyone would want to act as somewhat of a butcher. It's a little labor intensive and sharp knives might not mix well with poor eyesight.

I have been thinking of checking out the situation with independent meat suppliers.

I was back on Monday and the cheapest meat was chuck and it was $9.99 a pound. They did have some 20% fat hamburger and it was $3.99 a pound. You may recall ground chuck was just slightly more expensive than hamburger in the past, that probably explains the low supply of hamburger why grind it and get $6.00 less for the effort.

Not all meat will make stew meat, some meat is better dry roasted. I haven't found real stew meat in years so I substitute chuck which is not as good.

I was a cook in the Navy nearly 60 years ago and we got 6 way beef, stew meat was one way, oven roast, pot roast, steak and hamburger. That is five of them and danged if I can remember the 6th one. Strangely Filet was just steak and the officer's mess and crew didn't like them so when I opened a 60 pound box of Filet I set them aside for steak sandwiches for the cooks.

Even if all 194 were solely covid deaths the number is extremely low.

No justification for lockdowns and the seizures of small businesses.
