Democrats Drunk With Pandemic Power Could be Undercutting Themselves Come November

Flexing unearned influence has exposed the thirst for control of their citizens.

In Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf caught a whiff of his constituents working up the desire to step out and start living their lives once again. The idea of citizens exerting their freedoms and basking in the normalcy of liberty was too much for him to stand. On Monday he sent out a tweet storm, delivering a series of firm commands of how he intends to clamp down on those who might dare get the idea of doing things.

‘’Today I am announcing consequences for counties that do not abide by the law to remain closed,’’ said the Wolf cub in his opening salvo, the concept of federalism trickling down to the local level becoming an insult to him. He threatened to cut off non-compliant counties from federal relief aid if they dared defy his executive order and grant the voters the choice to decide for their own lives and livelihoods. He then extended his punitive promises further.

He went on to threaten businesses that might open in defiance of his iron-fisted decree, telling them they could be cited, they might see their liability insurance threatened, and bars and restaurants might end up with their liquor licenses revoked. As threats go, Wolf could see this becoming a rather neutered one; if an establishment is facing foreclosure all together then running the risk of the governor’s tantrum-like wrath could be one worth taking.

This governor, as we know, is hardly alone, as the petulant Pennsylvania tyrant is part of a widespread mob of Democratic governors who have been intoxicated by the sudden discovery of power they can impose on the citizenry. Wolf does this with the comfort of no reprisals, as he is in the final stretch of a term limit regime -- he is operating comfortably with a lame-duck Napoleanic complex. Others, however, may have a reckoning ahead, and the wider Democratic party repercussions could be felt later this year.

In Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer has attempted to parlay her oppressive dictates into becoming a vice-presidential contender. She has gone so far as to extend her stay-at-home orders another month in a state with mounting anger towards being kept from their businesses, with a legislature fighting back at her power grab. Whitmer, like so many of her Democrat demagogues, is freely imposing rules which have no bearing on public safety.

Gretchen has been bolstered by a fawning press corps, operating under the belief that her tactics are warmly received. She initially was combative with President Trump over relief aid supposedly denied to her state only to have it revealed that her office had failed to fill out the basic paperwork to apply for FEMA aid. She has forced most businesses closed, and even went so far as to mandate that those stores remaining open had to limit what items were available for sale. The locals are becoming fed up.

Protests have been staged at the state capitol already, and the pushback in her state is growing. She thinks that it is a strong move to go after a local business that is defying her executive order, but the local law enforcement divisions are resisting the command to shut him down. It has not occurred to Whitmer that in a state where the people want to return to life, the optics of her bringing the force of government down on a 77-year-old barber are not a good look for her. A judge also thought so, overruling the governor’s order to close his shop down.

Her neighbor Wisconsin is also seeing legal opposition to an oppressive governor. Governor Tony Evers saw himself getting swatted on the snout by the state Supreme Court when it ruled that his extension of the stay-at-home order for another month needed to be overturned. Evers was full of hysterical bromides as a result, proclaiming everything was being thrown into ‘’chaos’’, and declaring of his state - ‘’It’s the wild west’’. His summation at the power that was stripped from him was that ‘’It’s a bad day for Wisconsin’’, but the citizens seemed to disagree. Within hours of the ruling bars and restaurants were flung open, and they saw themselves packed with residents.

Other states have had a tougher go of it with dictatorial leaders. Maine Gov. Janet Mills stripped the business license of a restaurant that defied her order to keep businesses closed -- until June. In Colorado Gov. Jared Polis came down on the restaurant that dared to open on Mother’s Day, to national attention, closing it down in the name of science. In every case, the establishments opened to packed crowds, filled with people willing to be in these businesses while these Democrats invoked death and doom as a promised result. To get a real feel of the tide shifting we only need to look to the west.

In California, where cowing to idiotic political mandates is considered good manners, even there we are seeing a fed-up citizenry. Beach closures have been met with protesting crowds, and skateboard parks that were moronically filled in with sand were converted into dirt bike tracks by the area youths. And more than a small shop owner, automaker Elon Musk has come out and defied the business closure, all but daring the authorities to come and arrest him. Instead, they backed off.

These Democrats resorted to the short-sightedness of their temporary power grabs. They could exert their influence and peacock around with inflated importance as the press was busy castigating GOP leaders who took less authoritarian approaches. The risk they do not see is that more than a bothered constituency inside their state borders is the result. Tens of millions are out of work, unknown millions more are under varying degrees of duress, and most are eager to move forward with our lives once again.

Those frustrated by this crisis are made more so by these political opportunists, and it is something of a revelation. It has been a common refrain that this shutdown and its removal of liberties by the government has opened the eyes of many to the negative impact of too much government. Now factor in that those newly skeptical minds are seeing this overreach consistently from the same party, it will register in their minds come November.

Trump has been doing a poor job and needs to improve.

I think Trump is being very smart, letting the groundswell against the blue-state dictators build, while extolling the benefits of letting the people re-start their economy. At the same time, he needs to both remain prudent and be seen acting prudent, while he forces his public medical clowns toward reality. People who have not been following the details of the WuFlu obsessively, or who are natural worriers, legitimately want to see that actual dangers are being addressed.

Trump, and the people, will profit hugely from this dual process in a November. That's my estimate, anyway.

Principle:
Democrats/Leftists always -- always! -- overreach. There are no exceptions to this proven proposition.

Corallary:
Democrats/Leftists will continue to overreach until they are stopped ... most often by force, the only thing Democrats/Leftists understand and respect.

Scratch a liberal and the inner Nazi begins to show...

This was very shrewed of Donald Trump to put the proceedings in the hands of the governors. Enough will remember the left’s facist actions in November to make a difference.

......in a remarkable departure, a number of Democrats defected from Nancy Pelosi’s $3 trillion spending bill stunt.

Were the two recent congressional elections of Republicans in solid Democrat states a hint that a huge red wave is building against them?

Perhaps Democrat’s internal polls are a bit frightening?

Repub’s two Congressional wins in (gasp) Commiefornia and Democrat Wisconsin were strengthened
by Trump’s slaughter of Biden in a presidential primary vote.

Plus a Repub pickup of a Cali statehouse seat.

Four for four aint bad.......chuckle.

The dem’s Nazi Covidictator governors are losing support among their Shelter and Cower voters each day.

Also, those states are losing billions of $’s in lost Sales tax as we don’t shop much anymore.

As we don’t drive much anymore, the hidden sales tax per gallon in each state “ain’t” there.

We live on a culdesac with 14 homes and close to 50 vehicles in this one street. Some days, the only vehicle traffic comes from the UPS, Fedex and Prime vehicles delivering what we ordered. The UPS driver is working from about 6 am to 6 pm with his business increasing everyday.

I have joked with him and the Prime drivers, that we would rent our driveway out to their company for overnight. They laugh and say, “When they pull into their distribution centers, their delivery vehicles are being loaded with the deliveries for the next day.

There are 6 college age kids at home with their cars in their parents’s driveway’s or on the street where we live. The college kids are walking or riding their bikes.

Most of the families here, are like us, they have not bought any gas since the shelter and cower rules came in March.

We got a Call from Triple A telling us to start our vehicles once a week and to call them if our vehicles don’t start. We have been Triple A customers for 59 years, and we have never received a call like that.

So the Covidictor governors are watching their sales tax $’s drop like rock. Their so called non essential tax payers have no income, so they will not be paying this quarter unless they can open up.

Eventually, these Covidictors will have to stop buying votes from their beloved illegals, drug addicts and other permanent unemployed scum.

They are certainly giving the opposition significant issues to run against them.

I know...it’s truly awful to see how many people have been panicked into the left because they think the state will “protect” them.

But that’s no accident. There was a very good article in the WSJ about a well-respected doctor and researcher who does not think the lockdown was the way to go, offers firm statistics and evidence on behalf of his position - and keeps having his media appearances and writing taken down immediately by social and broadcast media. So the only thing people have been allowed to hear as the official (Fauci) position is panic and doom.

I’ll vote for Trump again too, but I really think by letting this go on...which he is doing because it is his state of emergency that is allowing the governors to go crazy ... he’s doing himself and us no favors. A lot of people, unless they get more support, just won’t bother to vote...and between that and the massive cheating, the Dems will win again.

National emergency is watered down. Governors are the ones who gets to call the shots. Even if President Trump tried to do things himself, Democrats would accuse him of being a dictator. So he lets the Governors do the dirty work themselves.

“We got a Call from Triple A telling us to start our vehicles once a week and to call them if our vehicles don’t start.”

That’s probably because of the 10% ethanol in pump gas nowadays.

It’s ok if the dar is driven regularly and fresh gasoline (+ corn alcohol) flows through the induction system.

But, it it sits long enough, that ethanol oxidizes metal or polymer induction fuel components, makes flakey residue. Not good.

That’s why lawn equipment, ORVs, boat motors, etc. often won’t start after sitting during the off season, and require carb disassembly and cleaning or rebuild or replacement. Always use non-oxygenated (no corn alcohol) gasoline in those!

Once the campaigns get rolling, the Democrats are going to have to defend these indefensible positions. It should be fun.

Well, more nicely called “cultural Marxism”.

Then, more nicely called “socialism”.

Then, more nicely called “progressivism”.

Not here in Illinoisistan.

Wisconsin opened the other day, and Iowa has been open throughout the whole plague.

Yesterday the networks were showing a PSA of a really sheepish Governor Fatfcuk telling Illinoisan's here in the tri-state area to "be cool" and take it easy if you're planning on doing any of that free people chit this weekend.

Gotta be tough to try and sell that line of horsechit when your own family tells you to pound sand and takes off on you and leaves the state during the lockdown.

If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious.

Dumbazz democrats.

Gov (W)Hitler doesn’t care if she antagonizes the “rubes”, the “gun nuts” and the “Islamophobes”.

Having a bearded imam open her briefing with Islamic `prayer’ was an “in your face!” to all of the above. The imam denouncing her critics as “haters” was icing on the falafel.

Lame Duck Wolf is probably more dangerous than Whitler as he cracks down out of pure spite, but I had relatives in western PA; not one did not own guns. PA is honeycombed by the Appalachians and most of the state is sorta wild & wooly; why did they dig all those tunnels for the Turnpike?

When James Carvile called PA “Pittsburgh to the west and Philly to the east, with Alabama in between”, he did not mean it as a complement.

If PDJT supports Federalism and allows states to handle their own matters in order to hatch out these petty tyrants, he’s delivered yet another master stroke.

I’ve been saying this for a few days now. I predict this is going to backfire spectacularly on the Donkeys come November. Just wait until residents of states like Pennsylvania and Michigan and Wisconsin, etc see people in red states going to work, earning money and going out to have fun as normal while they’re still stuck in lockdown.

The problem for them is, how do you hide it when they see people in other states living normal lives? Last weekend I went to the public outdoor gun range. This morning I got up early and took my buddy (my black lab) for a hike.

Now imagine several more months of lockdown for them like some of the fascist Donkeys are proclaiming....
