I’m not an idiot. I used to head the OSHA compliance office at a company I worked for. I know how to properly wear a mask. There isn’t much in the way of fitting on the fiber masks. Idiots conflate the fitment of rubber respirators which do require a degree of fitment. A monkey could properly put on a fiber mask.
My goggles don’t fog because I’m not a drooling idiot and can properly put the mask on.
Even if their masks are leaking at the edges it’s catching the aerosols that come out of their mouths. That’s what we’re talking about. If everybody wore a cover over their mouths and kept social distance it would largely solve the issue of airborne transmission including for dirtballs with Duck Dynasty beards.
BTW idiot, if n95s don’t work why do hospitals need them? Hmmmmmm? Before you throw around the “intellectually challenged” comment look in the mirror.
An N95 needs to be fit tested to be effective. Period. If you have ever worn one you should know fhat. And half the worthless cloth masks I saw at the store today were worn not even covering the nose. Even you should understand how effective that one is.
When I wear an N95 in the hospital it is combined with a gown and full face shield as well as a negative airflow environment. The N95 does not filter the virus but is a part of the entire package. Are you wearing a gown and full face shield to the grocery store? I think not

It doesn’t filter out virus sized particles but it does filter out droplets. It doesn’t mean you can have indefinite exposure in a contagious environment but it does impede you achieving a viral load high enough to get infected. For someone in healthcare you sure don’t know much.

It doesn't take much effort once you have the pattern down.. and the food's safe. And yeah, even take-out hamburgers - dump 'em on a plate, trash the wrappers, and put in the microwave with the lettuce and tomato still on and they taste almost the same. French fries are better...
"When" is a choice each individual makes in a free society in their own time. We don't vote on it... we can't bully citizens to leave their homes or go to concerts... and we don't want to... you don't want citizens forced to rejoin the community, right? You're taking the liberal stance on this issue... what you're saying is 'you're for getting life back to normal, and that people who disagree with you want to cower in their homes in fear.'
It's just not true. Everyone wants things to go back to normal - you, me, everyone I know, everyone you know....
It's the same twisted logic liberals use when they say they don't want children being shot in schools - as IF we want children shot. It's nuts. No one wants children shot in school - we just feel liberal gun control laws won't stop committed killers.

Good for you - I’m 67 and in the high risk age group...I have every reason to believe that if I get sick, there will be at least some symptoms...I also do the distancing thing to keep from swapping air.
Went to a Firehouse Subs on Saturday to order/carry out...place had about a dozen customers waiting on their orders...about half had masks on and nobody seemed scared...
Can’t you pass it along even if asymptomatic or presymptomatic ? Of course if I were actively sick there would be obvious signs.
I don't act like an idiot because I don't want to catch it (if I haven'r already had it - look forward to an antibody test someday so I know that if I had it, i react well to it) so I do the distance thingy and don't engage in stupid activities with others. No coughing or sneezing been going on so I ain't spewing anything...
We have been told that we have to wear masks to protect other people from US. We have further been told that the masks don’t protect us from catching it if we don’t have it.
Since we have been socialist distancing, wearing masks, not gathering, and not really going anywhere or doing anything, then if masks work, I couldn’t possibly have gotten COVID, or if I have and was asymptomatic, I can’t be contagious after nearly two months of this lockdown/face mask crap. So why am I still wearing a mask?
If the argument is that I could still catch COVID from someone else, and we’ve been told that the masks don’t protect ME from getting COVID from someone else who has it, why am I wearing the mask?
And if the answer is that there could be a “second wave” if we stop doing all of this idiotic stuff, then all of this idiotic stuff clearly isn’t working, so why are we still doing it?
The bottom line is that there is no way to justify any of this any longer. And when I say any of it, I mean closing business, forcing everyone to wear masks, forcing everyone to stay 6’ apart. Everywhere you go, there are signs and announcements about COVID. Every TV commercial, on the PA system at the grocery store, every couple of minutes, announcements exhorting us all to “Stay 6’ away from EVERYONE”, etc. I have never seen such focused and coordinated propaganda in my life. And the mask thing is basically saying that I along with everyone else, am PRESUMED to be a carrier, and we are subject to all of this stupidity because we are unable to prove a negative: that we DON’T have COVID. That is absurd. The whole thing is so insanely stupid, so completely inconsistent and illogical, I can’t believe it is still going on.
